Support Sylvia Lim (WP) in Aljunied

Anyway, look at the PAP candidates, all are untested, in a team of 5, you are looking at 1 minister and 4 rookies hoping to get a free ride. Most of these people who get into parliament and become MPs don't even attend the parliament sittings. They continue their usual jobs and on top of that, collect 13,000 SGD a month as an MP. All their jobs are done by RC and boot lickers anyway. The other jobs are done by the bureaucratcs. What do they actually do? Once a week meet the people session, that's all.

There is no monopoly on Integrity issues. In fact Mr. Thaman if I can recall is also convicted of some offence, I can't remember which one. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Is it Criminal breach of Trust? And he's still in office.

1. Phey Yeo Kok - serving MP who has yet to be brought to justice. A case of cheating and guess who he cheated - the workers. He had his fingers in the till.
2. Devan Nair - ex MP and party stalwart - molesting, drunk
3. Wee Toon Boon - MP and serving minister. Convicted and jailed
4. Teh Cheang Wan - MP and serving minister. Escaped justice by killing himself
5. Lew Sin Pau - ex MP. Awaiting High Court trial
6. Choo Wee Khiang - serving MP, charged and convicted for cheating
7. Ahmad Khalis - serving MP when referred to Disciplinary Committee

Devan Nair is LKY best pals for decades and he didn't know he's a drunkard. Lapse of judgement?

Filling in the form oversight and getting pissed with Election department? Come on, give me a break. Did ELECTION DEPT have a notice that they are recording conversations and video taping? (In 1st world democracies, you are required by LAW to inform people when you record or tape them. And in phone banking, you have a message saying "Your conversation is being monitored for quality purposes".)

WP's Low slams PAP

Workers' Party (WP) has criticised the People's Action Party (PAP) for raising the issue of Mr James Gomez's minority certificate application to the Elections Department.

Mr Low Thia Khiang said:

"If the PAP thinks that I will be intimidated by their big guns and will duck the issue, they have made a wrong judgement. I have spoken to James Gomez and found out what had happened."

He said the PAP was trying to use the issue to discredit the WP's candidates especially the Aljunied team.

PAP Buying Votes with Lift upgrading

Mr Khaw says the government has approved the lift upgrading programme for several blocks in the Yishun Ring Road area, and it will be rolled out after the General Election.

Mr Khaw says:

"SDP likes to speak more to the international audience than the local people. Have they really walked about in Sembawang GRC? It's a big area, 1,000 blocks. We are doing that, solving little problems here and there, some little some big, wherever we can, we are solving them."

"Voters are like you and me. I am a voter too. I stay in Ang Mo Kio GRC, so I will be voting. Our concerns are always what you want in life. You want to bring up your children, your family. Do you want street fighting, civil disobedience, deliberate breaking of laws in order to attract international attention? How does that bring us forward?"

"At the end of the day, come back to the basic beliefs of the party: sticking together, staying together, moving ahead and not splitting apart and walking backwards."

Dr Lim Wee Kiak, a new PAP candidate, asked the residents:

"Has any SDP member showed you what are their plans? What are they doing for Sembawang GRC? They claim they are interested."

Doing her rounds with the SDP team in Admiralty area, anchorwoman Chee Siok Chin says they will continue to champion what they set out for - transparency and accountability.

Ms Chee says:

"This is not just the first walkabout. We have been doing walkabouts ever since the end of the last election, meeting the people."

SDA: Govt not transparent on NKF, reserves

Mr Chia(SDA):

"If TT Durai did not sue SPH (Singapore Press Holdings), let me ask you, will our PAP ministers still be praising the NKF, Mr TT Durai and urging people to continue donating to the old NKF? If TT Durai did not sue SPH, would they, our world class ministers, know all the wrongdoings in NKF?”

"Our world class ministers are led blindly by a charity organisation. It is an honest mistake and the ministers say we were all conned by them and apologised. Is that all? When the government makes mistakes, they apologise. Don't you think more should be done?"

Yip Yew Weng, (SDA candidate for Yio Chu Kang):

"In this election, we are not aiming to form the next government. Our 20 candidates are not enough to form the government so that's not an issue. What we aim to do is keep an eye on the PAP to ensure they govern Singapore well. Let the PAP form the government, let them distribute the money. But nobody is perfect and the NKF is a case in point. We must not let such an incident take place again,"

Please call CNA and let them know that it's an utter disgrace that they failed to provide the forum for opposition parties and their members.

Let them know they're obstructing democracy by practicing self-censorship, and being PAP's propaganda-machine.

We're the rudimentary forces upholding Singapore, and we deserve to know of all the different voices, including dissent!
