Mr Low Thia Khiang said:
"If the PAP thinks that I will be intimidated by their big guns and will duck the issue, they have made a wrong judgement. I have spoken to James Gomez and found out what had happened."He said the PAP was trying to use the issue to discredit the WP's candidates especially the Aljunied team.
If NKF issue is just a Peanut then Jame issue will be just a dust mite. Please dont waste taxpayer monies over such a tiny issue. We pay million of $$$ for all your salaries.
ReplyDeleteNews 5 tonight
ReplyDeleteout of the 30mins news 15 mins were spent on talking about Gomez..no better news mind you done by MINISTERS.
In the recorded message, Gomez sound polite. If Gomez had really threaten the civil servant, PAP would have blow up the issue straight away with a tape recording. Why have they not done so; because it never take place I guess, just assumption. Why are our minister behaving like kids, or is this the way first class government should behave? BG Yeo's example is totally irrelavant. I think my kids can come up with a better example than his. PAP, be a gentleman. Fight on real issues. At least I can still consider giving you my vote if you stop being so childish.
ReplyDeleteListen to this speech from Steve Chia. "If TT Durai did not sue SPH (Singapore Press Holdings), let me ask you, will our PAP ministers still be praising the NKF, Mr TT Durai and urging people to continue donating to the old NKF? If TT Durai did not sue SPH, would they, our world class ministers, know all the wrongdoings in NKF?”
ReplyDelete"Our world class ministers are led blindly by a charity organisation. It is an honest mistake and the ministers say we were all conned by them and apologised. Is that all? When the government makes mistakes, they apologise. Don't you think more should be done?" .
Isn't this more serious than the mistake that Gomez had made?
Election is taking place in one week time, and the political parties are doing all the last minute stuffs to try to gain the population's support. I'm saying last minute, but I'm not referring to the opposition parties only. C'mon, I have never ever see my MPs before, and suddenly, they are telling me that they have been doing so many things for the past few years. If this is really so, then why is my RC still so inefficient and unpopular…
ReplyDeleteSaw this candidate describing opposition parties as terrorists; they come and strike every five years, then disappear. “In fact, they hung their posters in the middle of the night”… *ended off with a snobbish look, like he just won a farting contest…*
A few personal comments: Firstly, dear Mr. Smartass, pls be more sympathetic about your choice of terms. Just because Singapore is a safe country and you are lucky enough to be born in a country with a good standard of living doesn’t mean that you can just anyhow abuse the term “terrorist”… Seriously, do you really even understand the meaning of terrorism? Do they really just come and go as you are trying to compare? Secondly, if they really have the influence that matches those of terrorists, then you should understand that this means they are certainly worth noticing… Not a very smart way to admit that your opponents are good ya… And finally, pls do not call the kettle black. I have never see you before until one month ago.. Wonder who really are the cockroaches spouting out of nowhere… As for the last comments, well Mr. Mama’s boy, I guessed 10 o’clock is your bedtime rite.. What’s wrong with working hard at night?? At least they are hanging up the posters themselves, not like some people who just give snobbish comments on TV and didn’t really contribute significant…
Talking about this, another politician (this one quite senior though) mentioned something that their candidates have proven tracks records and everything… From what I know, only the senior politicians are talking about the important issues in parliament. Which sets me thinking, what have the junior ones actually achieved except for excellent academic results…
Mr. Low said that what sets his party’s candidates different from the ruling party’s is the fact that his are willing to fail. In a country in Singapore that is trying to encourage entrepreneurship, why is it that if you make a single mistake, uncle sam behaves like a mad dog: 咬着你不放 。。 (once his fangs are on you, he won’t let go..) (kk, uncle sam is not a singaporean, but you know what I mean…) C’mon, someone forgets something, and you are using it to criticize his whole family… And if I put a few paintings of white elephants, you filed a police report… Kao… be fair leh… Only you can criticize izzit… just because politics is never fair in other countries doesn’t mean we have to follow the unfairness rite…
Really frustrated over all these media giving all these biased reports.. for goodness’ sake, I seriously wonder how many Singaporeans know the difference between objective reality vs. subjective reality… (just had an heated argument with a friend… who would have guessed that he is a graduate… Which sets me to a minor point: Having an university education does not mean you are good at studying.. It means more than that. It means giving back to the society. By thinking critically and not blindly follow and accepting what the media tells you…) For those who knew, then I hope you are as frustrated as I am over all these reports. Even without going to the details, here’s one thing to ponder: If you are really good, do you have to go around reminding people that you are? If your opponents are really bad, do you have to add insults to the poor man... A man is judged by how he treats his enemies, and after the turns of events, I wonder what do they really mean by First World…
Lastly, they keep emphasizing that this election is different because a majority of the population are born after independency. If this is really so, then why are you still using propaganda techniques?? Do you think we are stupid, or do you think you are smart…
Sian, now I have to choose between someone who has done nothing, and someone who has nothing to offer…
PAP raised the issue of the Minority certificate because they doubt he is INDIAN?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Goh Chock Tong's wife did no wrong supporting NKF and Durai. But she should come on TV and explain herself why she supported NKF in the first place.
ReplyDeleteAnd a blog mentioned that Durai used to work at Helen's law firm. Helen is Yeo Cheow Tong's wife.
Seems to me like the PAP attackers are hunting in packs like wild wolves our for a midnight chompy feeding frenzy.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me like trying to get cheap potshots to gain political brownie points.
Seems to me like trying to influence the less educated and sophisticated supporters.
Seems to me like very close to defaming the integrity of another person when there is no way to prove if it is an honest mistake or not. BG Yeo even give an anology that this is like shoplifting in a supermarket, so is JGomez being insinuated that he is a shoplifter?
Seems to me that their human error is close to 0%. Dare they come and say they never made an honest mistake in administrative matters?
Dear James Gomez,
ReplyDeleteIf you indeed make an honest mistake, just plainly challenge your accusers to subject the issue of minority certificate question on to a lie detector test process. This process is much favoured by PAP for inducting newbies into their ranks. So, if indeed the independent results prove that it was indeed an honest mistake and nothing sinister, conspiratorial or dirty as alledged by all the PAP people who spoke up publicly yesterday and today, would that not in one stroke subject all your accusers back to their embarrassment corner, treating you like a kangaroo in a kangaroo court?
Finally, if you want to do this , you better do it before election starts. I don't see how you could be at risk. If they take up your challenge, they would be seen to be so petty and trivial to engage in this meaningless pursuit. If they do not dare to take up the challenge, they would be subjected to questioning themselves by the public, as the ball would be in their court.
To have our fellow singaporean go throughthe process of minorty certificate is humilating and divisive - remember how SAF use to alleniate or doubt the royalty of Malay citizen??
ReplyDeleteIS THERE A NEED FOR THIS CERTIFICATE??
Even if LKY is correct in implementing the GRC to protect the "minority" - surely the IC shows your race.... why waste the efforts and money for this??
We're into the 4th day of the election campaign after the nomination day, and the #1 issue that the PAP talk about, with perfect coordination with ALL the local media, is this "Gomez Event".
ReplyDeleteIt shows that the PAP has nothing to pick on the Worker's Party which has presented a much stronger line-up this time round.
I think the Worker's Party should not waste time and falls into PAP's trap on this issue.
Some one spent 15 mins on TV news said LTK and his team cant sleep well tonight.Despite the facts they given, but still cant convinced me.May be tomorrow they have will use more gun powder to fire WP.Of course,CNA is the best tool.
ReplyDeletelove the way LTK brandished pap as 'lao tai po' (old hag) for harping on the james issue. maybe someone can piss the pap hierarchy some more by having a 'save james' campaign. print t-shirts with an innocent face of james and have a line that reads : thanks for the memories. of course proceeds go to nkf. also, maybe record james saying 'it's an honest mistake: let's move on' in four languages and smaple it to a dance beat. sned it out as ring tone and free mp3. it'll be a hit. may just drive a certain 82 year old to his grave.
