Support Sylvia Lim (WP) in Aljunied

From Sammyboy's Coffeeshop forum:

SUPPORT SYLVIA in ALJUNIED if you think Gomez is weak.

Anyway, look at the PAP candidates, all are untested, in a team of 5, you are looking at 1 minister and 4 rookies hoping to get a free ride. Most of these people who get into parliament and become MPs don't even attend the parliament sittings. They continue their usual jobs and on top of that, collect 13,000 SGD a month as an MP. All their jobs are done by RC and boot lickers anyway. The other jobs are done by the bureaucratcs. What do they actually do? Once a week meet the people session, that's all.

There is no monopoly on Integrity issues. In fact Mr. Thaman if I can recall is also convicted of some offence, I can't remember which one. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Is it Criminal breach of Trust? And he's still in office.

1. Phey Yeo Kok - serving MP who has yet to be brought to justice. A case of cheating and guess who he cheated - the workers. He had his fingers in the till.
2. Devan Nair - ex MP and party stalwart - molesting, drunk
3. Wee Toon Boon - MP and serving minister. Convicted and jailed
4. Teh Cheang Wan - MP and serving minister. Escaped justice by killing himself
5. Lew Sin Pau - ex MP. Awaiting High Court trial
6. Choo Wee Khiang - serving MP, charged and convicted for cheating
7. Ahmad Khalis - serving MP when referred to Disciplinary Committee

Devan Nair is LKY best pals for decades and he didn't know he's a drunkard. Lapse of judgement?

Filling in the form oversight and getting pissed with Election department? Come on, give me a break. Did ELECTION DEPT have a notice that they are recording conversations and video taping? (In 1st world democracies, you are required by LAW to inform people when you record or tape them. And in phone banking, you have a message saying "Your conversation is being monitored for quality purposes".)

  1. I believe those are large issue that could not be covered up. I could imagine how many more issues are covered up, they are always good at this. As for the Opposition quality, dont worry, and tiny mistake by Opposition will be all heavily comment and publish. So there is no hidden agenda. Over the years, the "Bad" Opposition has been removed, and now what we have are "Cream of the Opposition" and thats credit should go to the PXX. They are the ones that helps to shaped up the Oppositons. You could see even such a small matters (Mr James Gomez)required highly paid minister to comment on it and take up 15 minutes of the NEWS time???

  2. Tharman together with 4 others were charged under the Official Secrets Act for leaking information from the Ministry of Trade and Industry to the press before Lee Hsien Loong announced it formally to the public. He was fine the maximum fine under the Act.

LKY is so sharp, having spent some much time at NTUC with Devan Nair, decades. Didn't LKY know of his drinking problem? If he did, why did he still promote him (demote from NTUC) to become president?

If he didn't, what does it say about LKY's judgement?

Despite Gomez incident, Yesterday's night (30/04/2006) rally besides Blk 837 Hougang Open space attracted more than 50,000 residents which I have not seen it previously. What a amazing and fantastic rally in Singapore GE history.

  7. pap has again made a mistake on choosing the open field in hougang to be the rally site instead of the nearby hougang stadium. they thought by doing so will discourage people attending opposition rallies. the hougang stadium will not be able to fit in such a huge crowd for yesterday wp rally. pap again shown that they totally lack of foresight.

Can someone please tell me whether LKY gets a salary (on top of this MM salary) as chairman of GIC. Does LHL get a salary (on top of this PM salary) as Deputy Chairman of GIC?

I refer to a report in ST Home p8, 25th April 2006.I have known of the scandal of PAP MP Ahmad Khalis's and his problem with police and Law Society for some time already. Its regarding a mortgage case he handled. The rumours has been circulating..., finally i saw a report of his case with law society. Heard that even forgery could be involved but police dismissed the case. then he was quickly advised to step down as lawyer and mp to avoid problems esp for this coming elections. Is this rumour of a cover up true? Please, can someone check it out for all of us!!

Choo Wee Khiang - Jalan Besar GRC MP : Convicted and jailed.

Now a chairman for sport something...

Not bad. Convicted, jailed and can become a chairman. Must be pre-arranged by the government.

  14. Very feudalistic china more than first world, if i may add. sounds like those villainous dukes who went around raping poor peasants and got away scott free. very 70s hong kong swordfighting movies materials. if only our drama groups got the balls to innuendo type drama to play out these sort of stories, instead of being so self-indulgent in their gaily pursuits. maybe stage something with some ballsy malaysian groups. mahathir would love to fund them, i think.

I hope LKY soon depart (to other world, where all his associates await his fate). And then, I will see how Singapore can "survive".
Don't get me wrong, I just want Singapore to grow up, like all good parents, children should learn to walk and fall down and climb right up again.

LKY is still applying nanny tactics.
Instead of focusing on issues and country-based polictics, they instead engage in gangland fights, slandering the WP Gomez and SDP Chee, also SDA Chiam is not spared from gentle giant Goh. Seems like PAP is really scared this time.

Even if they return to power, is it gentlemanly? I suspect Goh is wringing in his heart, that PAP has mandated this type of response to the Opposition popularity rise in this election period.

Goh, retire soon la. You deserve a rest.

LHL, sorry you will not be remembered as a dearing PM, you will always be LKY son.

LKY, no amount of jogging or anti-aging pills will make you pass 90. Even if you did, you are more a joke and an embarrassment than a mentor at this internet age. Micromanagement is not going to get Singapore anywhere in the new century.

Sylvia, u r simply admirable. Now Irene Ng, Indranee, Penny Low seem to pale in your comparison. Their ride in politics is so smooth, so safe, so non-happening. You go, lady. It's just so encouraging to know that Singapore has strong women like YOU.
