If Dr Teo had nothing to hide and made no wrongdoing whatsoever, why would he need a few days (been at least a week) to answer the more serious allegations of conflict of interest etc? If you are innocent, just come out and say you are innocent. Why would you need to think about it for a few days? You notice this whole time he has always dodged the questions.
It makes every sense for WP to develop their own system. They need to break away from being controlled by a company that Dr Teo has himself said is PAP owned.
And even if WP was at fault in this case, it still pales in comparison to the underhand dealings and taxpayer money that’s seems to have been siphoned off to God knows where. One is an admin fault, another is legalised corruption. Which is the bigger issue? We can close eye if government makes admin fault. But our eyes will be open damn big when they tell us to work harder, be more productive etc and then take the taxes from the average, HDB dwelling Singaporean and put it God knows where. The taxes are supposed to go back to the people, not fund lavish lifestyles of certain individuals.
This is probably a good time to mention that this might be why WP may not look like its been doing many high profile things. Its too busy trying to fix its own backend systems and get the council working.
Teo Ho Pin, Singaporeans would want you and the PAP to come clean and answer the following questions:
1) Why did the TCs sell the IT system which is developed with public funds and owned by TCs to AIM Pte Ltd (AIM) which is owned by the PAP and then lease it back from AIM?
2) What is the objective of setting up AIM which is a $2 dollar company and apparently a shell company?
3) Why do we need AIM, a shell company, since the maintenance of the IT system is outsourced and not done by AIM?
3) As AIM only has $2 paid up capital, where did it get the source of fund to finance the purchase of the IT system costing $140,000?
4) How much did AIM earn from the sale and leaseback of the IT system since its incorporation?
5) How are the profits of AIM being distributed; paid as dividends to the nominee shareholders or PAP?
6) Since this involves public funds and interest, please show us the audited financial statements of AIM since its incorporation?
Singaporeans are very concerned and we expect and deserve full transparency and disclosure from you and the PAP.
