Straits Times becoming official mouthpiece of PAP in coming GE

The Straits Times is fast becoming the official propaganda mouthpiece of the PAP regime in the coming general election if not already so.

More than 90 percent of its election articles are on the PAP with a token few given to the opposition parties.

Extensive coverage is being given to PAP ministers and MPs on its so-called ’special’ election website and all the video interviews conducted by RazorTV are with the PAP while opposition voices are silenced.

Let’s take a look at the 7 videos posted on the Straits Times’ ’special’ election website:

1. Biggest misconceptions about Dr Janil Puthucheary

2. Yaacob proud of new Malay candidates

3. Josephine Teo: Don’t be misled by tempting promises

4. What Tin Pei Ling can work on

5. Ex-army chief wants to project softer image

6. PM Lee launches PAP’s manifesto

7. Tin Pei Ling now more resolved to serve

The Straits Times is completely disconnected with the reality on the ground. Singaporeans are not interested in what Tin Pei Ling can work on or whether Dr Janil has been misunderstood. We are more concerned with pressing issues and problems created by the PAP regime.

Instead of wasting bandwidth and storage space on such frivolous interviews, the state media should be asking pertinent questions to the PAP ministers and demanding answers from them such as the land and construction cost of building HDB flats, the percentage of foreigners, PRs and new citizens in Singapore, the number of PRs and new citizens who relocate elsewhere, the losses incurred by Temasek Holdings and GIC and the growth in median income over the last 5 years.
