"If we can get 83 out of 84 seats it will be a very good result. It really depends on where the opposition contests. We would like them to contest in every constituency. In that case, then I expect the voting percentage to be pretty high for the PAP.
"But if they concentrate on some wards which they think is weaker and for which there are some local problems of people facing more hardship, then the voting percentage would be lower for the PAP. So you should read the percentage of votes in that light, whether that represents the whole country's support for the PAP.
"I would like to think that the PAP has done a good job and whenever there are issues, the PAP has addressed those issues. So there is confidence in the PAP. And around the constituency, people want to know who can provide them a better life, who can do a better job, so they compare the candidates and that is why they want to have a PAP MP running their constituency."
