"The alternative is: do you want what happened in Bangkok just a few days ago, or in the Philippines? People say 'alright, since we are very different, we can let go'. The moment you let go, you end up potentially looking like that. So if things seemingly look calm and peaceful and healthy, it doesn't happen accidentally."
"I think people want excitement, that's ok. People want entertainment value and so on. It's a young generation, they want issues to be connected. I don't think they want people to hit each other in the Parliament as you see in some countries."
"Let's make politics honest, clean and serious. Some entertainment value, we do workout, do line dancing, that's alright. But do not make fun of, and along the way, you belittle the whole political process."
Political Excitement, or Political Apathy? - disgruntledsporean
He talks like he has the mandate. Who is the one to define whether excitement is important or not?
ReplyDeleteHow can we let 1 party decide that excitement means for 1 party to desparately hang on to power. Dig into the coffers to pay themselves huge salaries as though the money belongs to them?
Change the constitution as they deemed fit?
If you don't vote opposition (whichever and whatever), soon you'll never be able to vote. We need at least 26%(I think) Opposition seats to deny them the right to change the constitution at will. Draw and re-draw the GRC, etc.
You wanna vote for this man who left and betrayed his own birth country, in search of a BETTER LIFE for himself?
ReplyDeleteOn the issue of used of Medisave to pay for chronic illnessess is a total last minute dash for the finishing line with no value to us. For those who have a heart problem will know that the bill will never be that much at a polyclinic to make the claim possible for majority of the cases. Unless you went to expensive specialist perhaps which I cannot afford. Any way this is again our own money by the way although it is in CPF. This was so sad and ..... I am beyond words. I had some respect some time ago. But now you know my great dissapointment. What a fool I have been. I blame myself. So please don't blame yourselves on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are retarded. The reason why you're sitting here having the opportunity to complain is because of what the government has done over the past few decades. If you don't like what's going on in Singapore then just leave the country. Or are you guys too dependent to even dare venture.
ReplyDeleteI dont see what is wrong with his speech. It makes sense to me and I agree with what he says.
