Abstention equates an endorsement of that policy

Prof Eugene Tan, didn't you abstain from the White Paper? Your abstention equates an endorsement of that policy, no matter how much you railed against it. Your stance is almost equal to PAP's Mr Inderjit Singh who voiced opposition against it yet still voted for the document. You made yourself appear hypocritical don't you? If you've had deep reservations towards the white paper, the most prudent way to approach this from the standpoint of national interests is not to abstain but to vote against it!

The other NMPs who kindly voiced out against this white paper, you've done your part and we thank you. But this sad episode also shows that we truly need more elected opposition MPs to counter the PAP juggernaut. Otherwise beyond 2016, we true-blue Singaporeans will find ourselves substituted and doomed into extinction, notwithstanding all the flowery promises LHL had spewed out today in parliament. For the people? For Singapore and Singaporeans' future? I say it's more for PAP's future isn't it?

We can no longer expect the PAP to listen to us. It had passed this white paper without the decency to recognise the monumental impact on us all and the colossal stakes involved to hold a national referendum for us to decide. PAP still thinks it's doing the right thing and believed that nothing can stop it from doing so, at our expense.

Hence, come 2016, please all fellow true-blue Singaporean brothers and sisters, please let's band together to save ourselves because PAP will not save us. If not for your sake, at least for your future generation's sake. Do you want your children and grandchildren to pay the price for our continued folly in letting PAP run this country?

They said that they were always open and honest with the people. Why then did they hold back the White Paper until after the by-election? If they released it before the by-election then the voting would be a referendum of sorts. They knew that they would suffer a beating at the polls if they did so.Putting it to the vote in Parliament is nothing short of cowardice, knowing that it will be endorsed with their overwhelming majority. As for Eugene Tan he is what the late Harold Pinter described Tony Blair - a superficial intelligence.

He and that PAP bootlicker Gillian Koh, we hate to see them appear on TV talking about election. Especially that woman, so obvious bias and pro-PAP and as my husband put it: only shits came out from her mouth.

Yes, today 2013 we singaporeans are suffering because of lky & PAP's screwup 30years ago. And now lky & his foolish son are planning to screw singaporeans in even greater scale in the next 20 years.

This family is a nothing but a bane to the country.
