- The PAP may lose the election and a new party take over. But its not likely the PAP will be totally gone from the face of S’pore politics. Its likely that the opposition party may win by a slim majority, say 55% of the vote, which will mean that many PAP Mps and Ministers will still retain their constituency and their seats in Parliament. This is what happened in the case of Taiwan when the KMT were defeated, but still a very prominent party. This will be a comfort to the electorate as they will see many familiar faces, and also to the investment community and to the world as they know that if the new govt. does not do a good job, the seeds are sown for the PAP to win the following elections and return to power.
- Its not likely that one single oppo party will win the election. More likely, the PAP will fail to win more than 50% of the seats, and the oppo will have to form a coalition to govern the country. This is where its crucial the oppo start talking to each other NOW. They have to prepare for the contingency that collectively, they may hold more than 50% of the seats and hence they need to negotiate who will get what portfolios and all that stuff.
- The PAP will tell you the oppo have a lack of quality personnel running for office, and hence are not competent to run the country. Well, can it get any worse now? Does the PAP have personnel so much superior than the oppo? I can tell u to date, no oppo politicians have lose $90 billion plus of the taxpayer’s money, obliterated S’pore jobs, dramatically increase the price of housing, let in millions of strangers unchecked, etc. So, if you think the PAP calibre is so much more superior, u are mistaken. I am here to tell you that when the PAP first started, they were novice knowing jackshit. They hired professionals like the economist Winsemius, and others to give them advice on the economy, industry, trade, etc. It will be no different if the oppo win. Any expertise they lack, they can always hire. Its no feat of imagine to know that we have to take a totally different direction now for our economy, education system, immigration policy, etc. than the one the PAP has put us on a course for. In fact, I believe that many of the oppo leadership are actually quite smart and will turn out to be competent. Many more competent people will wait, and join the oppo when they win. I don’t see why one of the oppo party cannot offer the post of Minister of Trade and Industry to Sim Wong Hoo for example. I am not saying that he will accept this position. But I am saying there are many competent S’poreans with lots of large scale experience. Many are working overseas, and many are in S’pore. Attracting them back to work for a new govt. to affect a better change might appeal to some of them.
- The PAP will tell you the whole country will go to hell if they lose. Eg. Trains will close down, electricity will be shut off, their normal every day life will be severely disrupted. This is wrong. The PAP does not tell you that they are only a political party. The infrastructure of the country and its civil service belongs to the people of Singapore. Police officers, fireman, hospital staff, etc. are all paid by the government of Singapore, not by the PAP. Therefore, even if the PAP is not in power, this people will still go to work, and the infrastructure will still carry on no interruption. U will still have light and electricity and water, don’t worry.
- The PAP will tell you the world investment community will pull out of S’pore if they lose, and the property prices will plunge, etc. Well, business people and MNCs are logical. They will not arbitrarily pull up stakes and move. Look at the HK example. The country when from one form of democratic government to the exact opposite communist. Did every single big business pull out? No, they adopted a wait and see attitude. This will be what happens in S’pore too. As for the property prices plunging and all that, is it really a bad thing?
- The PAP does not tell you that they have so many skeletons in the closet with regards to hidden wealth, conflicts of interest and outright corruption that they cannot afford to lose power. Any subsequent govt. can simply open an investigation into their closet and many of them will be discredited and in jail. People need to realise this is the ulterior motive behind many of the PAP assertions that they are the best and the oppo is not nearly good enough.

What The PAP Does Not Want you to know
There are many Myths about the PAP losing an election. There is much fear about political changes in Singapore. Sinkies need not worry. The PAP wants you to think it will be the end of the world if they are voted out of power. The end of the world will not come. Do not worry. I wanted to start this thread to tell my fellow citizens not to be afraid, to have heart. It will not be as bad as the PAP tells you it will be. I analysed the scenario of what happens if the PAP loses power and what they claim will happen. This is my conclusion.
you didnt mention that the personal army may need to be mobilised.
ReplyDeleteInteresting
ReplyDeleteWhat you don not know that even if LKY is brain dead and is at home on a bed, he will be fielded as a candidate , otherwise hoe to keep in on the payrole and pay thim 4 million
ReplyDeletePAP want to think for you.
ReplyDeleteAt 47 years old since 1965 still cannot think,
still need PAP to mgt your CPF $.
Think hard and see what is best for you.
Singapore survived more than 145 years before the PAP became the Government, and the world is not going to end without the PAP in power. Someone else can do the job, and who knows, may do it better.
ReplyDeleteTwo things we can do if we want changes to our lives. Put more opposition into Parliament to check their arrogance of pushing things through as they like, eg the President's salary increase for example and foreigners, HDB pricing and CPF issues. That bigger minority in Parliament will also serve to remind them that their power comes from the people, and they can vote in more opposition MPs to put pressure on the PAP should their policies fail to benefit citizens but purely centred on economic growth.
Either that or we can continue to quietly suffer the consequence of the PAP's stifling hand on our lives, squeezing us from all sides with high cost of housing, medical, education and cost of living.
The choice is us to make.
I happened upon this video about capitalism and its effects on people. It is 80 minutes long, but I really suggest that you sit through it.
ReplyDeleteI got chills when I think about the parallels of actions and events with what has happened in Singapore. My thoughts after watching? What is the true history of Singapore? Each and every Singaporean must know about this so that we can make a Singaporean Singapore.

@Jiangnara_1900
ReplyDeleteYour head ahh .. the prices of housing will go down. The price will not go down even in bad
economy. The prices will keep on rising sky high that soon even for a tiny studio apartment can even cost half a million $.
But don't be dismay, there's one location where you can still get affordable public housing ... @ Lim Chu Kang. Soon the garmen will announce this budget BTO public housing.
The size of this unit is about : 84 inches long, 28 inches wide and 72 inches under ground. Unfortunately it doesn't fit for couples but its well suited for divorcee like you. You better book this BTO fast cause some sources told me that due to the ridiculously targeted of 6.5 million in population and land scarce .. they are exporting most of this budget housing to Mandai and Mt Vernon. They will lay this budget unit at the platform of a conveyor and press the magic button. Then the budget unit with you inside will flow to the burning room. It's Burnnnnn .... Ever heard of Deep Purple song "Burn".
Just my humble advise ... Don't separate what God has joint .. try and patch up with your EX ... see a marriage counselor, Religious help, or get friends/relatives to solve. If it's trivial matter
i'm sure it can be solve. With both your join income, you can even buy a bigger unit or private property.
May God bless and protect this generation and the next generation of Singaporean
.
Take care and God bless
@ pragmatic
ReplyDelete"The first thing they will tell you that investing in Singapore is due to stability and huge manpower pool." - pragmatic
=======
So tell me ... who are the huge manpower pool ?? I will tell you who, since you're so ignorant, maybe could be one of the pap trolls and goons ... :
All the imported Ftrash, Foreign workers, and those who just got their Sg citizenship from our pasar malam garmen who sold it at 3 for $1. Didn't you know that our exclusive pink Sg I/C's now on sale in PRC, India, Philippine, Myanmar, Malaysia ..etc .. by our garmen at 3 for 1$. Even an uneducated PRC's working in construction site holding our precious Sg pink I/C ? So sorry to say ... our Sg I/C ..from exclusives, now a pasar malam stuff, whereby without check and balance soon will be a junk product of Sungei Rd.
So with all those big Corporations and MNC's around, still We Native Born Singaporean struggling to put food on our table ... Please tell them this : At your own timing, At your own target, GET LOST FROM SINGAPORE! YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE! What we got to lose anyway ??
About your question : do you thing there is cohesion among the opposition ?
Open your Eyes BIG BIG ... Most of us never ever, ever seen such a United Oppositions Parties and contesting 82 seats out of 87 in our lives. This election is going to be recorded in the history of Singapore.
About your question : Who is going to be PM,Foreign minister, Education minister, Finance minister etc ... Watch this video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niTqwXorzQY
This is rumour mongering... There is not a shred of fact in this article that is substantiated. That Singaporeans believe crap like this and crap similar to this... is really scary. It shows how narrow minded people are.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm pretty friggin offended that we're termed "Sinkies" now. Seriously, can't you just type "Sgreans"?
As an analyst, have to say that PAP is in serious decline. In fact, it started even in those few years before LKY left PM post. He is still holding the reins though, otherwise it wll be even worst.
ReplyDeleteThey have no ideas at all, all they know is bring in foreigners to grow the economy - that is not even an idea, its economic suicide.
It is in fact the oppostion who have come up with the ideas this time and all the paps do is just criticise.
Comments made by ministers confirms that there are mulitiple splinter factions within pap. Tharman says good to have oppoosition, then PM comes up with an opposing view. Notice there is no communication between the ministers. Look at their body language when they are together. Even when they attacked WP's Low, they looked like individual snipers taking potshots rather than a cohesive team at work. GCT once was very close to LHL, now they seem like strangers. Perhaps PAP ministers are now shooting at each other's backs
.
Very serious problems with the PAP candidate selection process. Out of the 24 candidates, 1 dropped out for mysterious reasons, the rest are C to D grade material, on a scale of A to F. Imagine the scenario if any of these become ministers. This selection process was something they boasted of in the past, but now they don't even dare talk about it. Now they can't even attract talents into the PAP.
These are just a few issues, you may have more to share to share with fellow Singaporeans.
@ Jiangnara_1900
ReplyDeleteIts about location, location, location. Its not about the party in your ward.
Pragmatic, I am not sure if you have been working overseas yourself, and in a big corporation. I have, from 1979 - 1988, in a major corporation which have branches in almost every country in the world, and from 1988 - 2001 in their Singapore branch. I am now in business.
ReplyDeleteI think you are very naive. Businesses do not solely consider stability and huge manpower pool in their decision to invest anywhere. This is a fallacy. Businesses invest where risk and rewards commensurate. Economic activity is all about Land, Labour, Capital and Technology. Am I near to raw materials?, is the market accessible ? What is the potential? Fixed costs? Variable costs? Financial and banking structure, political and legislation? risk? Human resources? When I was posted to China (1984-1988), we were there because of the potential, you could say that the political and human resources not very conducive then. I could invest in Zimbabwe if my returns justify the risk.
So please refrain from the old and tired excuses that we will be in trouble if we lose our current batch of ministers. There are others just as capable, willing and able to step up to the challenge.
Singaporeans as a whole are a timid lot and kiasu/kiasi type, afraid of change, and it reflects in their voting behavior. Their attitude is "Better not to rock the boat moored at the dock, than to cast off our shackles and venture into the deep blue ocean".
all house prices has been escalating. u sell high, u buy high. what's the difference? if house prices go down, u sell cheap, and buy cheap too. do u know what's the difference? lower prices, lower interests. u pay less interest. i do sympathize with u, but both ways, u still have to pay ur ex.
ReplyDeleteI am divorced and i need to sell my house leh, if the prices go down i cannot afford to pay my ex and buy another resale flat even if it is smaller than the one i am staying now. What do u think i shd do?

why a ruling party that has in power for that long would not wan to lose power, here is my own opinion.
ReplyDeletein any country when a single party rules for decades, there r always possible some dirty deals went beyond public knowledge since they r the single ruling power n nobody has any authority to uncover the dirty laundry. n in times to come these dirty laundry may actually grew larger as they bcom more positive abt their power to do anything. if they loses power these dirty laundry will go public n many ppl may be implicated. look at all the dictators around the world that had lost power overnite...most went on trial for human rights n power abuse n jailed..!!! of cos mr suharto is 'lucky' to die b4 the trial even started so nothing hd bn proven or maybe the roots are so deep that many lands may hd overturned if he hd actually gone n trial...either way...the longer u hd in power the more u can afford to lose it...
Robin Hood robbed the rich to help the poor. But apparently, you are helping the rich for your own benefit from deprivation of the poor. From what I have seen written by you, you are a die-hard PAP fan and must have received lots of benefits from them. Not that you cannot do so, but please don't talk about rationality. You mean what has been written are lies and deceit. I agree that the PAP has done alot during our difficult times after 1965. That is history! The good and self sacrificing leaders (Friar Tuck, Little John, Maid Marian) most of them are gone. What we are talking about now is the present. New upstarts who does not care about us but only on how well they will benefit when they join this bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, the saddest people on earth today are the people who have either been seduced/bilked/swindled/forced into the ranks of the PAP and who want to switch sides. They cannot do so now or risk being labelled a traitor by either sides.
ReplyDeleteIf you are one of them and have opened your eyes, cross over now to the warm embrace of fellow Singaporeans who are willing to forgive and forget. Vote for a change.
Their selected new MPs:
ReplyDeletea) Energy Sector-Sale of Spore Power etc.Why the new MP from this sector?
b) Finance - New MP is from MAS,Why is he being voted into as MP?
c) Defence Sector--New MP why is our defence spent increasing?

Pragmatic, it is a pity that U r brainwashed by MIW. Certainly PAP has done great work in infrastructure building & attract foreign investment. They sing their praise so much about their track records, but their "broken records" are as follows:-
ReplyDeleteGreat Losses in ShuoZhou
Great Losses in lots of GIC investment including Western Digital etc...
Even can't uphold the justice for Singaporean in Romania Diplomat hit & escape
Escape of Mas Selamat
Too effective birth control in the early days that Singaporean are facing population declining
Unaffordable housing (now 3rm is 350K or more. how can a family monthly income of 3K afford it ? 20% ordinary account for 3k family is only 7.2K a year it will take a young couple 10yrs just to save up the 20% of 350K)
Competition of cheap foreign labour
Losses in Millions in many PAP town council in Lehman brother junk bonds & Pinnacle notes
Failure of COE to solve heavy traffic
Social problem by foreign worker (You can join them for beer drinking at HDB void deck at Pioneer
Broken family with problem from Casino
and I go on & on but I am really tired to list all. I have set up a regional office for my ex-company in India. I think I am qualify to speak the criteria for MNC to set up operation oversea. It either has a big market opportunity or there a big incentives either from the government or saving with cheap labour. India has many opposition party & they pay people to rally or go on strike (you can jammed for hours) but lots of MNC still set up operation there due to their big market potential, cheap labour & incentives given by government. Singapore government also have given all these incentives to attract MNC & provide cheap labour to foreigner and squeeze out from our poor citizen. Our local talent & entrepreneur has a hard time oversea, they are not interested to help us despite we tried to approach IE Spore & the Embassy many time. They are only interested to push for big project for our govt-link company. Those are managed by those so call "Singapore Talent" where many are scholar whereby they did not need to bear strong accountability and our country loose billions. We had no lack of innovative & enterprising people. Mr Sim Mong Hoo also have a tough struggle himself going to USA. There are many more like Olivia Lum. We have innovation like the thumb drive, apple speaker & etc..
Some very prominant opp that are bright are forced out of Singapore ( like Francis Seow which is regards by the PAP as talent when he still agree with their direction. Once he is not a Yes man he is chased out)
I can see that Chen Show Mao is a rare gem. If not he will not to be the person to make all those IPO & M&A possible. Our MM Mr Lee is saying that he better go back to China just because he is on the other end of the fence. We can not move to greater height if our leader need not to shoulder stronger accountability
You can not control all the media in this new information age. I hope you can see the truth. I will not tell you whether I am right. The HARD TRUTH is all over the internet world that our poor is crying. If not PM Mr Lee will need not to apologise. Use your heart and wisdom and think. House that we stay is a liability & not asset. Mr Mah is digging a bigger grave for our next generation. PAP do not have the solution. They are not GOD. What we need is people with heart to serve like Mr Chiam See Tong. It is not the million dollar paycheck that motivate them but the love of our people. It might make you cry to see him serving the people at the void deck at this age & health despite he is elected by people. His smile will warm your heart and he din even have any glass door that you can bang your chair at him.
I vote for PAP long long time ago but no more. It really hurt that I need to switch after all these awakening. We can't find the Mr Goh Keng Swee spirit any more.....
I actually work 84 hours per day. where is the 8hrs X 5.5hr and after that the overtime pay. My Angmo colleagues put in less working time get more pay then me. My Asian colleagues getting lower pay and I ended up getting less work. These is what foreign competition unchecked is doing to me and my fellow singaporeans colleagues. I have no overtime pay nor basic salary nor cpf. I am a Singaporean but am treated like an outcast in my own country already. My brother always say LUN LUN, because he can and have to LUN. He is married and have 2 kids. I say there is no need to LUN.
ReplyDeletethe disproportionately large amount of TV airtime given to ruling party is very sad. ST n other dailies also so do the same. So our aunties n uncles will be brainwashed subtly into voting pap. maybe election results another horror show waiting to be shown.
ReplyDeleteThe following took place the day after the elections between 2 seniors:
ReplyDeleteCitizen A: As the cock crows when the sun rises, I told you so
Citizen B: Pls elaborate
Citizen A: I told my son to tell them we are sorry for the mistakes, that we are human.
Citizen B: What’s your point?
Citizen A: These voters are so stupid and naive, like I always said. They believe everything my son said: They bought what he said and its 87-0
While I agreed with many of the points. I would like to highlight some in your comment:
ReplyDelete2. If we have loose coalition government, we are in deep shit. See the countries governed by multiparties, most of them are bickering among themselves. I don't say it must be PAP. I can be an opposition to form government, but should be the strong party and not combination of a few weak parties just to make up >50%
3. It will be very difficult to find somebody who want to be a minister (surely not Sim Wong Hoo) as the pay will be cut to ordinary singaporean pay, with lost of private life (Do you think ministers have privacy??). Ask yourself. If you earn $10,000 per month now, would you take up ministerial position with $5,000 pay? PAP or opposition, surely hard to find such people. Just see, even the high income earner opposition candidates, none has indicated that they will become full time MP and leave their day job/business.
4. I don't think I have heard that
5. If you make it hard for business to operate, to earn profit, to employ (too much restriction of foreign workers, higher taxes, etc), business surely pull out of Singapore and move elsewhere.
6. Singapore rated top as among countries with least corruption. This ranking is published by various international agencies, surely not under PAP control. So, be fair.
I emphasize again, I am not writing for or against PAP, neither for or against oppositions. I only want to highlight some points
This is my take on the CPF: Years ago, when CPF was introduced, it was a reasonable idea, to enforce savings for our old age. Then, we could withdraw our monies at 55.
ReplyDeleteDuring that time, the demographics in Singapore was such that there were many new entrants contributing into the scheme, and few withdrawals, as those reaching 55 were not withdrawing large amounts, so the new entrants could pay the exiting members (akin to tontine, pyramid, gemini or ponzi schemes).
The goverment used the funds to "invest" or "build reserves" or even perhaps for current account purposes.
At some time, the demographics change, and eventually the number of entrants becomes equal to the number of withdrawals (from a pyramid structure to a column structure, due to the slow population growth or shrinking of the new CPF paying members). However, withdrawals are large in absolute dollars + cummulative interest, and soon, as cash flow situation developed.
How then to balance the cash flow?
1) Delay the withdrawal
2) Sink the funds into immovable assets like your property (incidentally, the spike in property prices in 1992 can be attributed to this). People are momentarily happy, but they are paying the price now. The profits we make on our property is stolen from future generations. I made a profit of $XXX selling my home, but someone else paid $XXX to me. I could enjoy the profits, but he had a longer and higher mortgage, so effectively, I am robbing his future for my present enjoyment.
This sinking of our CPF monies is captive, as the majority of Singaporeans cannot migrate and move elsewere.
3) Special schemes like retirement scheme. Then, we could withdraw all and did what we wanted with it, afterall, it is our money. Now it is locked up in a fund that pays you effectively an annuity.
In summary, many schemes are dreamt up just to delay, obstruct (medisave), impede and hold on to your money. These temporary fixes will come back to haunt them one day. It will eventually blow up.
I am glad I took out all my money (only 55%) when I could. Next time, they will make rules that will ensure that you may never see your money in your lifetime ("passed on to your beneficiaries").
Think about the Greece situation: Simplistically, it is also a cash flow situation. Maturing bond holders are demanding to be paid, and the government needs to borrow from others to pay the present maturing holders. They cannot borrow from others at reasonable rates, therefore they have to go to the European Central Bank and IMF. They will need to sell state assets (islands, airports, etc). They are currently negotiating with bond holders to "extend" the loan repayment period or even to take a "haircut". Such an action will immediately result in a "soverign default" situation.
Singapore's CPF "bond holders" are its citizens, but the government can impose any rule they like, and not accountable (called "default") to its citizens. Perhaps the losses at the GIC's and Temasek's are enormously large that it cannot liquidate its assets at a good price to pay to its CPF members, hence they are forever changing the rules, and never to our benefit.
Its time to vote in opposition members of parliament to ask those questions, and to ensure that we will at least be able to enjoy the CPF money, which is afterall, ours.
Anyone knows anything about Steve Tan, the guy who withdrew last minute? Please share
ReplyDeleteIt is big words that we can continue without a good government. Who is going to be PM,Foreign minister, Education minister, Finance minister etc? We need exceptionally able person to do so.
ReplyDeleteI am unsure if you have been out working overseas and also in big corporation. The first thing they will tell you that investing in Singapore is due to stability and huge manpower pool. People with the right ability will leave, stability will not be there for do you thing there is cohesion among the opposition ?
5yrsthinkonce ? You're not thinking at all, and you're obviously talking so much for knowing so little. The only resources Taiwan possessed are fresh water & arable land. But that's insufficient to feed an island of 23 million+. That's like equivalent to our 3 reservouirs, but not enough to quench the thirst of 5 million. Taiwan's domestic market size is too small to sustain it's economy, that's why they too are export oriented - like our's. To say that Taiwan is uncompetitive because of democracy is crap. They have the world's top home grown manufacturers like Hon Hai, Qi Mei, TSMC. I don't think you know who they are or what they make. Go check them out in Fundsupermart.
ReplyDeleteThe major difference is - Taiwanese society at large are highly civil, well organisation, cultured & loving. Brought upon by years of openness in thoughts, embracement of public debates and democracy that in turn, improved the intellectual levels of their society as a whole.
Undoubtedly, there are growing pains. Refusal to accept growing pains meant eternal ignorance & immaturity. Would you like your kid's IQ to stay at 10 when he/she reaches 20 ?
And if you think foreign investors are truly fond of us, go talk to those "high-value" investors in the Financial, Creative, Media(Financial medias only) & Healthcare industries. They will call us a "police state" to begin with. They are here NOT because of a one-party govt.
And precisely to have a sustainable economy, we should encourage openess, creativity and democarcy to flourish. Domestic high value entrepreneurs thrive in these environments. Most home grown entrepreneurs prefer to die in their own homes & beds, they don't shift their HQs for profits. That is if, they can call that place home.
A new era is at the rim of a daunting state.... just like US where they have their first black american president. i do support the idea of foreigners coming to singapore PROVIDED they are Rich to begin or very talented, brainy or academically accredited from a world wide recognized certification.
ReplyDeletenot just because they speak english with tagalog accent where you hardly understand them and graduated from their third world university. how can they compare their grades with our university. to make things worst... they bring in their third world pumpkin attitude to our so called world class city states. such as,yelling loudly in public places where unspoken rules require us to whisper. or some main-lander from some provinces came to singapore to start up another hawker stall and "fight" with locals. without proper scrutiny at the custom does the authority knows there are more Prostitutes, Girls club, boys club soliciting more areas in singapore?? more crime made by "these" people? can opposition put these to a stop??
so?? who should we vote next?
For single hood singaporean out there above 35. Why should we have to pay a second hand HDB apartment when we pay the same taxes like those with a family unit? to burden up our expenses we have to pay extra to the first owner. (and we are not allow the choose the area) so why can't we get a brand new flat direct from the government rate? have they neglected our single hood fellow friends?
Well ... thank you Joyce ( sarcastic ) .... A coward like you not welcome here anyway. You chose to ran away ... instead of fighting back like all these heroine :

Very good .... from a Singaporean who moved away in 1997 mainly because the education system took away the opportunity for our children to be just that, children who could have time to be a child (like we were in the 1950 & 60's) and not just have to be tutored to enter primary school!!! Even then, the PAP started rubbing us (our family) the wrong way, so be it, we migrated. Good luck fellow Singaporeans .....

Well said, patriot. You got good brain, man. You got good heart. I respect you.
ReplyDeleteThe more the PAP threathen, the more I become suspicious that they are hiding something. Example: Former President Ong Teng Cheong took the govt to court to get them to reveal the assets held by the govt agencies Temasek and MAS. What happened? PAP gave all kinds of silly reasons - it will take a long time and effort to get the information. Come on - who are you fooling? One day the truth will come out and Singaporeans will be glad that have a credible opposition to check abuses of govt.
ReplyDeleteI thought all PAP cronies are scholars? Or are you one of those foreigners who became citizens just to be an MP and use our tax payer money to buy a kingdom in India/Malaysia/Philippines????
ReplyDeletePlease share the lunk with as many people as you can. We need this to be seen by all!!

Common, wake up ! You owe whatever you have today to the people who have been running your country since 1965. When you drink the water, remember the source. If your life is too good and you got nothing better to do, go and pick up a hobby.

William,
ReplyDeleteThey are already using taxpayers' money to rescue their failed ventures and the hole they have dug is too big too cover up with our undisclosed National Reserve... 2 ex-presidents, Ong Teng Cheong and Nair, were removed for trying to prevent these scoundrels from abusing our money.
if S'pore turns into a slumbec PA is no longer the Govt, then they have not done a good job of building up an effective civil service. we should hold them accountable
ReplyDeleteMay some one can compile a list of "threats" that were commonly used by PAP during every election to-date to scare the hell out of Singaporean.
ReplyDeletelancerzo you such a big mouth i give you thumb up..

Taiwan is a very unqiue case with its history and definitely future with CHINA. Taiwan and Singapore is at two different ends of a continuum. Taiwan with its autonomy never resolved, party while it last, and Singapore on the other seems to offer the permanence of the PAP machinery to investors. The jury is still out, . Taiwan is reporting suffering intense brain drain to even CHINa and others. But with Asia rising and racial diversity, many western MNC is relocating (planning towers) to Singapore from the West,
ReplyDeleteThe chance is upon us for a generational change. Finally there seem a peoples uprising.chance. Nonetheless it is bone chilling sad.The opposition we so desperately need has turned out to be frigthening flawed in their policy manifesto. Me and together with other 1000000 approximately HDB home owners risked being collateral damage within their cross fire range. Why are the opposition so openly courting our bros and sis votes (newly HDB applicant) and putting the rest of the us in harm's way. We beseech you (opp) do not solve one problem and create a bigger one. We stand hand in hand and shoulder with our brethens (GOVT must give a much bigger DISCOUNT to those who are first time applicant, PAP cannot short change us anymore,). In time they with the rest of 80% singaporeans (HDB dellers) will prospers. God forbid only private condos assets rise in price, if that happens, the opposion would be responsible in planting the seed of a divided society. We voters demand that the opposition do not attempt to enter parliament at all cost, even if the have to serve the majority as sacrficial lambs.
ReplyDeleteWe appreciate whats these individuals (opposition party) has done, but we the voters need them to redress these concerns
Will they lost their house when failed to pay installment after losing million dollar salaries?
ReplyDeleteCOMPLAINS COMPLAINS COMPLAINS... the person giving this article is just like the opposition.. can he come up with a solution?????

I'm was once working late due to those useless bosses from SAF officers-turned-managers. While they did little work, corked up plannings and schedules, we wipe their butts while I patched up the holes for them, get NO OT PAY ... I resigned for not letting them abusing me while they were sucking lots of money for salaries and bonuses ... Wow ! One happy famiLees !
ReplyDeleteHow corrupt can things be ? You have no idea what they do to your coffer's money. Better watch out before it is too late to patch up any big gaping holes - Abandon Ship !
Thats on thing Singaporeans find hard , thats change and uncertainty , and that will come to Singapore whether its liked or not . The world is changing and Singapore is an export economy .
ReplyDeleteWill be interresting to see what happens when all the investors and PR's find a better mor in place to invest and live , is Singapore ready for that.
