ReplyDeleteIs this true?
How come my favorite (no 14. Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan - S$2.6 million) said the below mentioned and was reported in the newspapers; which is confusing us?
=> Xin Min Ri Bao 03.05.2011 Tuesday - printed newspaper page 07, bottom right corner.
"over 90% of patients medical bills are not affected".
(ps. could not find the same article online version "http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story/OMYStory201105030426-241958.html")
=> It was reported that Mr Khaw pointed out each minister was compensated $13,000 each month; for a 5 member GRC, each month has $65,000; one year less than $1,000,000.
=> "If less than $2,000,000 can resolve the poverty issues, then this world will be a Heaven! the world would not have any poor people."
I am puzzled if the newspaper's reporter reported a fake quote by Mr Khaw Boon Wan himself when he and his Sembawang GRC members are visiting Marsiling on 03 May 2011?
This means they are corupt if their pay is low - in other words they are corruptible!
ReplyDeleteAnd you deserve EVERY SINGLE CENT YOU'RE NOT GETTING for being such a sheep...
ReplyDeleteThe CNN article only lists premiers, not the rest of the government. If u really count "politicians" and not just "premiers", then its all Singapore.
ReplyDeletein private sector, management hires and fires if the top guns dont perform. here, we have no say! they can hog the top of the politicans lists for 1 to 2 decades or even longer.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much we have in the reserves? would you like to enlighten me since you say there is transparency? Even Ex-Presient Ong Teng Cheong was upset that there is no transparency. To date, everyone is still asking but no exact figure have been given. Is that how a company, let alone a country is run???
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS A SMALL AMOUNT CONSIDERING HOW MUCH THEY HAVE BUILT FOR US IN RESERVE. LOOK AT THE COUNTRIES AROUND SINGAPORE AND HOW MUCH POLITICIANS ARE REALLY PAID. OURS IS A TRANSPARENT SYSTEM...WE HAVE THE PERFECT SYSTEM IN SINGAPORE
ReplyDeleteThey DESERVE EVERY CENT THEY ARE PAID. LOOK AT THE PEACE AND HARMONY WE HAVE IN SINGAPORE THAT MANY TAKE FOR GRANTED...LOOK AT HOW GOOD OUR CPF SYSTEM IS THAT ENSURES EVERY HAS INCOME IN RETIREMENT AND A ROOF OVER THEIR HEAD WITH THE WONDERFUL HDB SYSTEM..

ReplyDeleteCEO level maybe but I doubt COO and CFO is paid equivalent to no. 6 and 15. And if no.1 is Public relations/Marketing then isnt it higher than private sector? lastly, theirs is recession proof job and who knows whats their KPI?

ReplyDeleteaccording to steph's source, it says that Donald Tsang, second in the list, is paid US$530,000, which is still lesser than most of Singapore ministers in the list above, after currency conversion. This is supposing that the list above is true.
ReplyDeleteThe actual salary for the president is about S$4.2675 million instead of S$3.9 million
ReplyDeletehttp://sg.news.yahoo.com/singapore-president-s-annual-salary-tops-s-4-2-million-.html
There are about 30 ministers in Singapore which is why the post says Top 30.
ReplyDeleteAt S$1.5M still higher than Donald Tsang -- US$530,000.

ReplyDeleteWhy are u defending our government u ignorant fool.
ReplyDeleteThis is corrupted made in the open, FYI.
ReplyDeleteThe salary is conceived and approved by their own without having to ask the PEOPLE. There is nobody to say NO, and that it is ridiculous.
To serve the people is to bleed them dry ?
That's about the same amount they'd get if they had remained in the private sector helming their CEO, COO, and CFO positions. About right, no?
ReplyDeleteCould you please state the source of this information? It sounds fabricated. We need some hard evidence and proof.
ReplyDeleteridiculous!!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with getting paid lots of money.
ReplyDeleteI am not so sure, just curious, how about times x 21 months of bonus =?
