ST Forum gets swarmed by pro-PAP letters

The Straits Times Forum is flooded by a deluge of letters from PAP supporters in the last few days to defend the unpopular regime and its ‘Third World’ political system, in contrast to public sentiment on the ground.

One writer Tan Kim Kheng wrote in today praising the PAP’s ‘one-party’ system on the grounds that it has ‘worked well’ for Singapore and should not be discarded just because it does not conform to ‘Western norm’.

Another writer Chua Seng Chye made the usual blanket accusation of the opposition that it ‘just want to spend our reserves’ when it has long been ’spent’ by Temasek Holdings and GIC.

This massive ‘astroturfing’ of public opinion creates a false impression that the PAP is still enjoying the support of Singaporeans while conveniently ignoring the grouses against it.

Singaporeans seeking genuine and uncensored views should read online news portals like Temasek Review instead of the Straits Times which was accused by Singapore Chief Minister David Marshall as ‘running dogs and prostitutes of the PAP.’
