  1. also not all there can vote. some are from other constituencies. sadly....

  2. HOW did MR LHL know that the voting was evenly distributed across the young and old, amoung the different areas IF YOUR VOTE IS SECRET???

  3. ya, tats wat i observed at serangoon stadium also.. quite alot came from hougang which is just nearby.. also heard tat some came from AMK.. nevertheless, its a worthwhile attempt.

I wonder if steve chia is really goin to quit eh.. :)

  4. note. he even knew anchorvale. don't wat vale got higher voting percentages.

anyway.. they know the percentages PER BOX PER POLLING STATION..

so they will redraw the lines.. NEXT STOP: TANJONG PAGAR/MARINE PARADE

  5. C'mon people, we saw the turn out at the rallies. We heard the cheers!

How can the votes continue to remain within the 60:30 voting pattern? This is the same as last year!

    ReplyDelete
  6. ya, they always redraw the line to their favour.. hope more of their tactics would get expose in future...

  7. The media and papers are blockaded.. Most Singaporean never get the message... So what if all in the stadium voted for WP... It is still not enough for a 100K people GRC. To win, we have to start making know to people what alternative news mean - so people can then choose wisely. For Aljunied, if 9K people swing their vote, WP would have won.
This middle group people perhaps relied on the mainstream media's skewed reports and made their decision. This is the reason.

  8. For a person who quits just because of this does not show a gentlemen attitude!!

This election is a lost to PAP though it returns to power! It is a winning situation for the opposition, especially Workers' Party. The margin is drawing closer and closer. But it is too slim for Aljunied! Too unbelievable! But nonetheless, I congradulate Mr Chiam and Mr Low, they are the true heros!!! Sad that JBJ is not in this election, or someone will definitely jump up and down again because I am sure JBJ will definitely win!

    ReplyDelete
  9. wat!!! THEY JUST SHOWED 5 secs OF LOW'S SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they better stop all these skews..

    ReplyDelete
  10. If we know this is not the best representation of how Singaporeans voted, why don't we refuse to acknowledge this government? THIS IS NOT MY GOVERNMENT. I DIDN'T VOTE FOR PAP!

    ReplyDelete
  11. There is so much that they can redraw the boundary.. Unless they make Marine Parade 7 or 8 members GRC... Or else, there is still every chance to make a come back again.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anyway PAP will disintegrate when lao lee is gone... so there will be no more fun if he is gone before the the next GE

oh ya, JBJ. i wonder the next election he would be coming back again... hee! However, i think he wouldn't be going back to WP...

    ReplyDelete
  15. It was depressing alright. I'm from Aljunied, and I cast my one vote for WP. But PAP still won. At least we can take comfort in the fact that Aljunied was lost not without a tough fight. And that Lee Hsien Loong did not get the strong mandate he asked for.

Thank you everyone for your hopes in my constituency.

We must educate all to read blogs. We got 5 years to do it. If we need to translate blogs to chinese version, we have to do it. So that people are not information "blind". It is so sad that our education system have not taught us to be smart in sourcing alternative information and see things from multiple angles then decide. We are taught to obey from one source.. That's all. This is the flaw of our system. Unfortunately.

    Dear friends,

It's sad to see this GE! One thing for sure, MSM will still gives the ruling 'elite' the much needed edge. And IMHO, my fellow countrymen, by and large has been condition to FEAR, brainwashed to CONFORM, up-brought with SELF INTERESTS and do not kown the true meaning of Democracy and the spirit of what VOTING is all about.

What will happen to this Spirit? What will happen to this 'Wind of Change' What will happen to JG? What will happen to your and mine future from here on?!

3 cheers for the valiant heros of this GE in the opposition camps! Hip Hip Hurray! Hip Hip Hurray! Hip Hip Hurray!

They have already mentioned about blog regulations...so wonderful they are...wonderful..

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous1:10 AM GMT+8

Brave show WP! 'Daring 6' managed managed a decent 34% in their first baptism of fire. Considering that they're going against giants, and being virtually unknown, the performance is extremely commendable.

Though Sylvia's team lost narrowly with 44%, psychologically it's a ground-breaking attempt. I think she might get to be NCMP after all. This could be the tipping point for more successes for WP in future. Seeds have been sown, fruits will be reaped one day. Perhaps the next election, WP may spring some more surprises in the West by contesting more GRCs.

Kudos to all. You've ran a good race and fought a good fight. Have a great weekend and a good night!

next time the opposition must contest ALL the GRCs and Single seat wards in singapore so they cant draw lines! and everyone can vote. THEN we will see where the real support is

anyway, well done WP! even though we lost. we did send a strong message. i salute you for your excellent campaigning.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous1:10 AM GMT+8

they should take votes away from those 70s 80s and above yeas old ppl, they are ignorant, they do not care about the future. I am 17 now next GE i will be able to vote.

    ReplyDelete

so in this case, we should be wondering how to keep the bloggers identity anonymous..

Using proxy server might be safe.. but i really wondered how safe it would be if govt. requires them to reveal the I.P. and moreover, those free proxy might not be equally safe eh?

    what a disservice to
    Mr low! Disgusting media..disgusting journalists!

shame on all of you! You have lost the respect of tons of Singaporeans through this elections, and it was all summed up when u guys cut off Mr Low's speech. It was APPARENT that someone behind the scenes ordered to cut off halfway, for the reporter looked surprised as well.

Shame on the media. No wonder u guys are ranked so lowly in the world. Go back home tonight and search your own conscience. Talk so much on tv during the dialogue with MM Lee but yet u guys behave in this manner.

LTK and WP your percentage have gone up and this show the citizens are listening to your call. Only too bad not all are educated to read blogs otherwise I'm sure the 9,000 + votes in Aljunied will swing to WP.

The results show that there is light at the end of the tunnel, i.e. come the next election more residents are equipment with computer and access to other means of media rather then what we are getting from PAP control broadcast!

Come next election, WP will surely able to claim Aljunied!!!!

Please keep up the good work for the people....we need you the Workers Party to fight for our rights in the next elction.

Based on tonight results, it clearly show that you have the people's support. Keep up the good work.

Through this GE, i really saw lots of unfairness... and it's this, that they should address the next coming GE!! damn unfair...

Let's see how well they govern now that they don't have to worry about "fixing" the opposition.

    1. Maybe the quick "fix" to our economy with IRs will go *poof*, like the big fat colossal piece of lard known as Suzhou industrial park. Anyone who has gone to Macau recently would know that our putrid excuse of IRs will be completely overshadowed by the "Las Vegas of the East" very, very soon.

    2. And can they continue "fix"ing the internet? Take a page from talkingcock.com guys! We need more uncensorable websites that speaketh the truth!

    3. Finally, in jest, whatever they have "fix"ed for the old man to keep him alive, I want one of those as well.

Overall, a very disappointing night. Same shit, different year. Prove me wrong, Singapore, prove me wrong in 2011.

Media will heavily influence 3 Groups of People.

    1) Those who did not attend any actual Opposition rallies at all.
    2) Those who simply bochup elections, but when picking up a copy of the newspaper, saw CERTAIN headlines and therefore draw conclusions espoused by the media.
    3) Some of the elderly group who may not see through the slanted reporting of the media.

Add them all up, and u ll have a sizeable number, enough to swing votes.

Singaporeans are willing to take a chance to vote the opposition, but are also not stupid to vote candidates who dont have the credentials. If there were more Sylvia Lims, Glenda Hans around.. maybe it would have been a different story. Sylvia should go on it alone like Low ... she would stand a really good chance.

DAMIT... i oso notice mny teenagers n younger ppl support AP!!! tis is a good sign!!

Today PAP win again becoz it is realli true that ppl who are rich are realli rich and therefore they do not know how we ( lower class to middle class) feel... so they just cast their vote to the PAPPIES.. Also those elderly 70 n above are realli ignorant... tis is a unfair election!!! how can u bring msg to those elderly when they cant walk or disabled even there is a rallies.... since they are so veri easily satisfied with the PAP free gift..

Don't lose heart... the next time round the 4th generation is US!! we will show PAP wat is democracy and we r not slaves OF PAP.. WE DO HAVE OUR CHOICES..

WP may have lost becos of the redrawing of boundary of aljunied. parts of eunos, kembangan and chai chee which previously were part of aljunied were absorbed by marine parade. these same areas were also part of the previous eunos grc which pap narrowly won.

I know cos i live in eunos kembangan. My area has been in eunos grc, then aljunied grc and now marine parade grc.

the constant changing probably imply that the residents in this eunos kembangan area tend to vote for opposition parties. (this is just my own guess work)

anw, i wish all the best to the WP. hope that can recruit more quality candidates and contest marine parade...so tat i too can have a choice.

redrawing of districts with pinpoint ballotbox %, that's the secret of PAP's success. the battle for the next election is won or lost over the next few years with seeming small "fixes" - and we have to be as focus as we were the last 2 weeks or so - to address them.
Else - it'll be PAPpies again.
Incidentally, given PAPpies good work in staffing the civil service ranks and gov-companies with loyalist, the damage is done and will take years to reverse.

I think the vote counting is fair. Please don't disgrace the oppostion by making baseless allegations. Pls be gracious in defeat. Generally the opposition has done well. It is just that the WP team in Aljunied were new. I think the big win in Hougang is a demonstration of the support the WP has. Also Potong Pasir 55% is very good. This has shown that Singaporeans reject PAP money politics. Take your peanuts and eat them Mr Goh.

PM Lee also fell flat. 66% is not that bad, but for the fact he was so cocky in the run-up. If our PM conceded 34% to a newbie team that is relatively weak, he knows he has to thread wisely, or in the next election he will be voted out!

Let's look at positives. 1. LKY will die soon. So will all his old-time supporters. 2. Since so many of us have voted for opp, so if nothing happened to us in the next 5 years, we can tell our friends to also vote and not get scared. 3. We must remain critical of pappy policies in the years to come. 4. Write a letter everyweek to request we stop paying tv license fees. If Malaysians don't have to pay, why must we? Also stop buying st and newpaper. Stop buying sph stuff altogether.

look on the bright side. PAP's percentage has dropped from 75% to 66%. that is a clear message to the PAP that they are losing popularity. this election also clearly shows that the opposition, especially the WP, are fully capable of building credible teams to contest more GRCs in future. it is also clear from this election that the WP have matured greatly as a party. it does not matter if electoral boundaries are redrawn, or opposition parties continued to be denied fair media coverage. if good and credible candidates continue to step forward and join the opposition, an improved showing in the 2011 GE is assured.

If everywhere also got strong opposition support and if everywhere also got ppl stand for elections then how they try to redraw the boundaries also no use... if we work hard enough, the grc system will fail cos they lose one, they end us losing 5-6 seats... like tt hopefully we will all revert back to a more fixed all single sit system... I can only day dream...

kudos to the wp t-shirt idea... think many people vote pap cos of the "brand name"... let's start one for wp!

What has Singapore VOTED for this time round? What did we fall for? Upgrading projects? Progress package??

This is my experience with 'FREE' upgrading projects in my precinct.

    1. Upgrading projects in my precinct went into a facelift of lift foyers with tiles and soft lighting. But LOOK - with the facelift and the installation of lighting and grab bars in the lifts, the pulley system just could not cope with the heavier loads. The actual standing area of the lift was actually reduced by the fanciful bars. Plus the lifts break down so FREQUENTLY that the technicians who repair them each time also acknowledge these lifts are just OLD. Having them stop at each floor? Interesting. They will probably do just that. STOP at each floor, remain there and residents will have to take the stairs anyway!

    2. In another project they put in $$ for a dip pool for kids but it's poorly maintained. Gee look at the floating particles in the water. Golly, the dip pool is built at the open space between two blocks of flats. Oh the length of the pool is just 10 adult steps. Not to mention this 'dip pool' was also the forepromised swimming pool.

    3. $ was also spent on creating tiled paths at the void decks. Err why? Perhaps it was to make the void deck look pretty??? But these were more prone to causing people to fall down whenever it rains (which is just about as frequent as nearly everyday!) as they're CERAMIC TILES. For the sake of my back and my safety, give me the humble concrete floors anytime.

Hougang and Potong Pasir - you've got guts and grit. You indeed put the rest of us in shame. We'd rather have 'lifts' instead of 'stairs', 'empty promises' and a government that has forgotten they exist to serve the people and one that has proven time and time again, they'd bulldoze their way and not hear the voices of their citizens.

The next time, we face 'structural unemployment', 'increases in school fees, tertiary fees, conservancy fees, kopi costs', 'flats pegged at subsidised market rates' - do laugh at us in the face. We had voted for it.

As for the rest of us who form the 33.4% in all the various GRCs and SMCs, kudos. The system hadnt been fair, and we have not had enough people inside to make it fair. And of course someone tomorrow will point out that the 66.6% is better than someone else's 61% report card. But we all know that it's a drop of two grade levels. From A1 to B3 across board. This is not the stellar result or the 'strong mandate' expected. We should ask for opposition representation in the government equivalent to the total percentage of the actual votes garnered. This is the people's voice.

Tomorrow is a new day. By 2011, I'm looking forward to better consolidation of opposition voices, sharper minds, and those with a heart to serve. The ground needs to be worked for 2011.

over the next 5 years, expect the PAP to roll out an onslaught of measures to squash the opposition.

expect a lot more censorship, more hyping up of PAP members by the media, more redrawing of borders, more control, more government interference in private & social life, more fat benefit packages to bribe citizens, more spin, more discrediting of opposition members, more cracking down on internet expression.

in all likelihood, from now to the next election they will get very aggressive in their quest to win higher percentages in the next election, all the while putting a positive spin on it all.

be prepared, and we must counter their efforts by increasing our own expression and communication. we must keep increasing the spread of views on the internet as well as through word of mouth.

I agree with the 2.16am post. KBW was rather gracious in telling Sister Chee that he would like to reconcile the differences with her after the election. He also said that Sister Chee is too angry for the good of her own health. This is how a ministar should behave: dignified. Don't label people or call names. Don't wayang. SM, you're listening? Hey maybe KBW is good enough to be SM? Anyway, GCT will most likely get the boot for failing to cause a dent in Hougang and PP. Oldlee must be furious. I am an overseas Singaporean. I have been following the news coverage on the election closely, NOT through CNA, ST or AsiaOne, but rather through the bloggers’ websites. As such, I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the bloggers out there. Without you, we won’t have the alternate media that all Singaporeans need, regardless whether they are in the country or outside Singapore. You guys have been much better journalists than those from CNA and ST. You have done a wonderful job in bringing news, pictures of the rallies and videocasts to the readers. Please keep up the good work. We will definitely need you to be around for the next election. By then, bloggers’ websites will definitely reach more Singaporeans. Singaporeans are getting more internet-savvy each day.

Our papas and mamas may not agree with us on how our country should be governed. They may have forgotten that the future is ours and we as children of this country also want to have a say. They keep saying that their way of doing things is the best and only way. However, I believe the seed of yearning for an alternative voice in the Parliament is sowed and will definitely grow steadily. Tonight’s result from Aljunied and AMK tells a lot. We just need to be patient, don't be discouraged and continued to give support to the Opposition. They really have done a great job in this election.

    HAMMER OWNERSHIP UNDER STRICT REGULATIONS
    The States Times
    Amy Brownoser

In light of recent election results, the government believes it is in the best interest of the people to strictly regulate the use of hammers, as well as all hammer-related logos, pictures, podcasts and etc. Bushit Singh, a government spokesperson from the Ministry of Gerrymandering and Fixtures, issued a public statement yesterday "We don't think that a first world country like ours have any use for old world tools like hammers any more. In fact, our A*Star team is hard at work developing a flash-like tool that cuts both ways."

Despite an outcry from the public, the Nominal And Terribly Useless Committee, the legal labor union in the land has thrown its full support behind this new hammer regulation. NATUC spokesperson, Lau Lam Par said he/she that this is only for the good of the country. "People with no professional training will get hurt using primitive tools like hammers. What our craftsmen need for their upgrading tasks is a flash-cutter. That way, even if they get screwed the wrong way, they won't know the difference."

According to the latest poll, many believe this to be a kneejerk reaction to the latest election results and that commonsense will soon prevail. Chao Ah Beng, a prospective scholar in an ITE, had this to say "Garment say want to fix opposition, how to fix without hammer? Very bodoh lah. Also, what flash cutter they talking about? Maybe overstocks from Singapore Technology, dunno can work or not also."

Despite the mixed reactions, the government will go forward with this regulation, at least until some clause in a free trade agreement with a foreign power dictates otherwise.

Until now, I believe in govt (I still do) but all your blogs opened me up to the craps that we have been recieving from CNA.

Now I will visit your blogs for the real news.

My take for this election. Finally, Spr have a real opposition who is credible. Keep workin WP and never give up. U are the future of the young Sprean. I was wishin for a GRC win for WP but guess they are many out there who is cheapskate.

Hopefully, govt dont come too hard on WP because this election reflect really badly on them. PAP have lost their credibility this time. Only rich and elite and the less informed is their supporter. So people spread your words to your frens etc esp those apathy to politics in spr. PAP is becoming too elite and really dont understand the ground. How to when you never use MRT and Bus and your live is in COndos and brand name school.

Spr, pls wake up before it is too late. Of course, I still think PAP makes the best govt. But you dont need 82 MP. 50 - 60 is enough.

Like wise they can also amend to have 5 malay,5 indian 5 eurasian NC(Minority)MP..all this in the case where no or little voted in?.WHY GRC?wHY? so that the young and GREEN new white PAPs can hide under skirts to get into PARLIAMENT?

GRC- to a layman like me it simply means "the easiest and downright underhand method to bring in new PAP GREEN blood is by hiding them under my skirts so they can be elected and not be harmed in any way?

    VOTE OF CONFIDENCE
i strongly feel that in a democratic society, for walkovers, we should have a by election or at least a vote of confidence to see if the team of PAPs have the mandate by the electorate to be voted in say at least 50.1% or face a by election.this should be made mandatory so that every one excercises the right as a citizen to vote. it is a fair election process any way. do i have to teach PAP,MM,SM or PM

Where are the votes of those people who went to the opposition party rallies? Let me tell you this, people go to opposition rallies for banter, to see what kind of crap they can somehow come up with.

A few days back, at a WP rally in East Coast GRC, one of the candidates started spouting rubbish, and in chorus, the crowded responded with a 'shut up lah'. Singaporeans know what they want and they can judge for themselves.

I am an overseas Singaporean currently residing in the UK(supposedly a first world country). If you think we have gutter politics, i urge you to take a less myopic view and look at the current Labour midterm election slogans and advertisements.

Although i agree that the lack of freedom of press/speech is a contentious issue that needs to be looked at carefully, the government has been slowly opening up to the idea. Just let natural justice take its course and all will be fine.

If bloggers like you lot are unappreciative of the way the government has handled the country, why not renounce your citizenship?

I voted for WP in AMK and i am really proud of WP!!!

Low Thia Kiang and Chiam See Tong are doing a really good job and got a really good result!!!

I feel sorry for Steve Chia. To get nearly 40% of votes show that he is already a winner! Although media keep publishing his bad news...Steve Chia still got more votes than 2001. Imagine without those negative publicity??? I believe Steve Chia will be the next Chiam See Tong. Don't give up!

As for Sylvia's team...To get 43% of votes from our Foreign Minister shows that your team have won Aljunie GRC not to forget there are still alot of voters who dare not go against PAP even though they don't like them...PAP have plan to merge Aljunie and Hougang...Please Mr PM. Merge it and we will see WP win a GRC next time round!!!

As for Mr Chiam See Tong, you are my Hero since i am 13 yrs old. You are a gentleman. I was so happy to see you beat the shit out of Seetoh and also SM Goh!!! Beautiful Battle won. But it seems that SM Goh is the one contesting rather than Seetoh himself. Seetoh don't ask for help and face Potong Pasir like a MAN! Who wants an MP who keep asking for help? SM Goh, Mah, 80mil, Abalone, Shark fin and tour also can't help you...enough of the gimmicks and learn from Mr Chiam how to serve people well!

Seeing Hougang improve from last GE i am also very happy for Mr Low Thia Kiang. You have transform WP into a Powerhouse. I believe in another 2 more GE, WP is gonna snatch over the Power from PAP. By then Mr Low will be the PM!

To the opposition, Well done and i want to let everyone know one very important thing. Based on the result, we can see that in everyone THREE(3) singaporean, there is ONE(1) who dare and in fact voted the Opposition. Not to mention Civil Servents, People working in Govt sectors, People who never attend Rallies and people who are scare!

We all know what it will be if all the above factors are gone. So to all those who are scare, you only got yourself to blame! Just imagine, Water, gas, electricity, transport, education, GST, housing, ERP, petrol, food and etc....Which one have not gone up by 50% increment!!!!!!??????
Everything went up!!! AND SO DO THE MINISTERS" PAY!!!!!!!!!!

What went down in the last 10 years? Only 2. Our PAY and CPF!!!

Is this the govt you want?

Think and think hard. We are so hard today with living standard so high are all thanks to those voters who voted and those who dare not vote against PAP!!!

Last but not least, I would like to see Mr Chiam See Tong run for President Election in the next time round. With the support from alot of Singaporeans all over the island i am sure you will be elected! By then you can safe guard our money $$$ and not let PAP use it anyhow to buy votes. Then more Opposition will go into parliment!

One thing i am sure is...Potong Pasir equals to CHIAM SEE TONG forever.
As the chanting goes...POTONG PASIR CHIAM SEE TONG...POTONG PASIR CHIAM SEE TONG!!!

what a typically narrow-minded position...."if u don't like the way things are, leave the country."

i say: if we don't like the way things are, stay and fight for things to become better.

Singapore belongs to the Singaporean people, NOT just to the PAP and their supporters. to suggest that only PAP-supporters should be citizens is one of the most pathetic views i've ever heard.

Singapore does not belong to the PAP, but the PAP runs Singapore almost in all aspects.
Did you read the latest Times (US edition) magazine which reported on the lives of the world's most influential people? Singapore makes it into one of the 'Power Couple' list!!! I quote: “Lee Hsien Loong and Ho Ching- Singapore PM Lee (the son of Lee Kuan Yew, the republic's first PM) married Ho in 1985. She has since become one of the most powerful businesswomen in the world, running Tamasek Holdings, Singapore's national investment company.”
I am so proud of the fact!
Cheers to the L Reign and many good years to come!!
The 66% is a drop (means 1 out of 3 voters do not support PAP) but PAP still retains 97.6% of the parliament.

So narrow-minded for some people to label those who leave the country as quitters.

My thought is... That's y labour got kick left right center by the voters in U.K and Blair got to reshuffle his cabinate urgently. In U.K, at least there is free press to monitor the government, this is what that makes the U.K Palimentary system works. For Singapore, they don't win election graciously, also, everything is chorographed from the beginning to the end, by who, u know lah.
Lastly, I want to say no system is perfect, hence an independent monitoring mechanism needs to be in place and this independent party is non other than WP who has 1 in 3 Singaporean support. Next time round we will make it 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 and thene 2 to 2 and then overcome the odds.. One day, WP will win (if they stay on track and on course in their renewal process) and dun end up like SDP.
To all Singaporeans, dun give up. Help wake up the ones beside and around you. Remember the multiplier effect... 1 become 2, 2 become 4, 4 become 8, 8 become 16.. and so on...... I don't believe we cannot overcome and swing the mere 9000 votes in Aljunied.

" One day when you come to your senses and don't like it... you MAY NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE SINGAPORE because you have no means to leave; no other countries want you cos' you're old and unproductive etc etc.." So, just because it doesn't hurt you now doesn't mean that it won't hurt you one day.
And why are you saying that people who are not happy with the govt should leave. The govt represents the people as they are elected by the people... THEY DO NOT OWN THE COUNTRY. They know the demographics (i.e. how the different age groups voted) because they arrange the ballot boxes according to your NRIC number. A1 is for the younger people, A2 for middle age and A3 for the old folks. When they open boxes, it according to precincts and each ballot box is counted on one table on its own. The votes are then tallied and written down based on the count from each box.

PAP has no morals nor integrity. They arrested all Barisan Socialist key members and their supporters shortly after they boycott the election. Soon after they tighten their grip on the POLICE and Security apparatus.

  136. why are so many giving Steve Chia such a hard time about quitting? Eric Low and Sitoh also said that they would have to recinsider a career in politics if they did not win. How come everyone conveniently forgets that they said that? SC was firm in his conviction and determination to win this one. the other 2? gave themselves a backdoor - what's their conviction?

  137. pap talked so much about integrity of their mp, and challenged all parties to match them, okay, let's take them on, look around, why not we expose private life of some pap mp, to bring to public the "crime life" of these menbers, for a start, why not look at jc smc mp? take a close look.....

  138. "..... A1 is for the younger people, A2 for middle age and A3 for the old folks. When they open boxes, it according to precincts and each ballot box is counted on one table on its own. The votes are then tallied and written down based on the count from each box."

Hey, pls check your fact right before posting such untruth statement. You will only manifest more fear in the pple of voting anonymously. The segegation of A1,A2 & A3 is due to different nominal roll. It has nothing to do with grouping the voters into young, middle-age and old pple. If you stand in the voting station, you will see that all different age group pples are distributed randomly to A1,A2 and A3 which is based on nominal roll. Hope this clarify such misinformation.

Have no fear, just vote for what you think is Right and Best for you, your family and your country future.

In my point of view, I feel WP would like to make it big too but really need manpower and resources. so it derieve to money. Fund collection would help them a great deal to facilitate their work and recruit more ppl of calibre.

  141. to the anonymous who posted at 6:52 PM SGT stating: "They know the demographics (i.e. how the different age groups voted) because they arrange the ballot boxes according to your NRIC number. A1 is for the younger people, A2 for middle age and A3 for the old folks. When they open boxes, it according to precincts and each ballot box is counted on one table on its own. The votes are then tallied and written down based on the count from each box."

please get your facts right before you blurt nonsense out.

my whole family got into the A1 lane. My dad and mum in their 50s/60s my self and my brother in our late 20s.

your posting of wrong facts will only lead to more confusion to the public. think properly next time before you shoot off again.

    A1, A2, A3...

My gut feeling is that it's based on Block nos. Votes from one block all goes into one box. Has anybody noticed any of their neighbours using the same box?

If I'm right, then they know the voting pattern of every block, but they don't know how individual households vote.

why speculate? just check with the ED on the procedures, i.e numbering, name calling, etc that seems peculiar... voters shld know. In fact these issues might be the reason why some supporters didn't vote for AP.

    surprised nobody questioned.
