NSP's Yip dismisses PAP manifesto, says party out of ideas

The National Solidarity Party has dismissed the People's Action Party manifesto as an election tactic, calling it "old wine in new bottles."

Speaking to Channel NewsAsia, NSP President Yip Yew Weng said the PAP has run out of ideas.

Said Mr Yip, "I think it's just an old tactic that has been used by the PAP for years, in particular when the election is coming. They're just putting up a beautiful and attractive picture to the people. The question is, will the people be part of the picture?"

He added, "For years, the PAP has been delivering all sorts of promises, especially during the elections. They promised the people that we are going to have more good years to come. Have all these promises materialised? I doubt it and I think all our people know pretty well it has not. The answer is obvious; instead Singaporeans are suffering from unemployment, high cost of living, uncertainty and fear." - CNA /ct
