Grassroots and Media Play Important Roles In PAP Regime

In authoritarian countries, the ruling regime has its tentacles penetrating throughout all sinews of the societies. This includes the press, other forms of media, grassroots institutions, the legislation as well as other associated apparatus, government or co-opted by the ruling regime, to prolong and perpetuate its rule.

Since its ascendancy to power in the early days of Singapore, PAP has already planned for this. During then, the pressing issues were to get a country kickstarted with economic development. But point to note that this task was not at all impossible to achieve since the Brits did leave behind a functioning bureaucracy, and that the port of Singapore was then already thriving. We were no forsaken swamp. By that virtue, we got rich and we developed, but that was probably the time that PAP begun to set the foundations for its perpetual rule. This also coincided with the departure of many of the Old Guards of PAP.

Over these decades, without us knowing since we were too busy with increasing our living standards, PAP has already silently and discreetly extending its tentacles into virtually all sinews of our society. The grassroots is one of them, and so does the media. The hold on all these apparatus of politics, governance and society is so entrenched that PAP has gone complacent, knowing that this is a fait accompli done, and there's practically no or little means for any dissenters to make a resistance, legally or by violence.

This was what we saw in the case of authoritarian and dictatorial countries like Libya, where the citizens found no recourse against the tentacles of the ruling regimes that they had to resort to violence to fight for their rights. Surviving dictatorial countries like North Korea for instance are equally scared after seeing the plight of Qaddafi, Mubarak and the likes.

But we Singaporeans need not resort to violence like people in those countries did. We're peaceful by nature. The only weapon we have in hand is merely the piece of ballot paper we're given once every five years. Without a concerted effort amongst Singaporeans to unite and demonstrate our resolve at the polls against the PAP, the status quo will still remain, with only little change. This GE2011 is a good example of how well entrenched the system is, and how disunited the people of Singapore is (since not many saw the ills of the system). Despite losing a GRC and 6 seats in parliament, the system still largely favours the PAP. It's a small loss to them since it at least gives them the chance to continue their business as usual.

This issue about grassroots institutions being politicised in the first place when it shouldn't be is just one example of how PAP and its front organisation PA remain so complacent and confident of their political future, knowing that their political tentacles are so well and deeply entrenched in the society, and knowing that it'll only take a united stand amongst the Singaporeans to vote them out of power once and for all. In fact, PAP is confident that we will not be united anyway so there's nothing for them to be scared of. This GE2011 vindicated that their fears are misplaced.

What we all need to do, in order to rip up those deeply entrenched tentacles of the PAP throughout our society once and for all, is to unite at the polls in 2016. PE2011 will merely serve as a small and somehow useless warning to PAP. The only time to do it is 2016. By then, especially to those 60.1%, please open your eyes to see how degenerated our country has become with such petty politicking and abuse of power by PAP, and just vote it out once and for all.

Singapore belongs to us, not the select elite few of PAP. Majulah Singapura, tidak majulah PAP!

be. Buy Clomid Online. have really put across the point so well that you have made number of
things quite clear. Of course will have to go through it properly a couple of
times to actually gauge, but as of now I totally agree with your sentiment.
