Chan Chun Sing Blames Everyone in the World for His Stupidity

"young people must ask less what the Government can do for them, and more what they can do for themselves."
"Small problems or big problems, we always ask: What is the Government doing? There is a certain mentality (that makes me) worry. We can do much more to take charge of the destiny of our life than to ask, what is Government doing?"
"No point complaining that it’s dominated by the lunatic fringe and we leave it as such. If you have a point of view, go forth and do something."
- Chan Chun Sing

Mr Chan, if you and your predecessors bother to go read the online sentiments in the first place, how can you come to the conclusion that we did not offer suggestions? Put you aside, your other PAP members actually saw us as 'noises' and chose to disregard what we're talking about. In general, there is a mix of views out there: some negative, some positive, some unconstructive, but some others constructive. However, the attitude displayed by PAP towards us is that you chaps generally disregard all of us. In this case, please stop blaming us the common folks anymore after you've blamed your grassroots leaders for feeding you chaps wrong sentiments from the ground.

The 'institutions' you mentioned, Mr Chan, are the PAP-erected institutions - those same institutions which are designed to feed the PAP's continued existence and political hegemony in Singapore. These institutions are also some of the most distorted and immoral, if you pardon the way I put it. How can you explain using HDB estate upgrading as a political tool to threaten the electorate, even those elderly residents in Hougang and Potong Pasir? If you can deem such actions as something that's legitimate, then I can only say it's legitimate as far as you PAP is concerned, but immoral in the eyes of the others. These institutions which perpetuate fear and promote the PAP are nothing but Third World.

Not all are looking for a welfare system too. All we need is to be presented equal opportunities. By opening the floodgates to foreigners indiscriminately to boost economic growth (and your PAP pockets), squeezing the infrastructure, creating unfair competition between your so-called FTs and Singaporeans, eventually causing resentment and frustration amongst the people while you happily pay yourselves obscene salaries, how can you expect us not to retaliate online? In fact, I must say that Mr Chan, you are lucky because we Singaporeans vent frustration online but did not channel our 'youth energies' to civil disobedience. Perhaps, you can try to compare youths here in Singapore vs those rioting out there in North Africa and Mid-East?

Mr Chan, if you and your fellow PAP members continue to live in a world of self-denial, pushing blame to us instead of reflecting upon your own failings and those of the institutions PAP created, then pardon us for continuing to create noise. You are lucky because those 60.1% gave you this chance to continue to rule for next five years. By 2016, I'm not so sure. It's you who need to reflect on your mistakes and correct them instead of coming down here, like you Mr Chan, talking down onto us like some higher mortal in a condescending manner to us 'lesser mortals'.

What you're saying here seems to show how disconnected you continue to be.

Since 1994, we being telling you that the Minister pay is too high.  Again and again PAP brush us aside siting the 66.6% win as a support for their policies.  With it, another pay increase a couple of years back.  To make things worst, PAP Aljunied did not work as hard as WP i.e. walking the ground.  With a grassroot that kept bad feedback from PAP MPs, PAP MPs were living in cloud 9.  Non of the MPs fought strongly against this ridiculus salary e.g. $4 million for a President doing close to nothing.  The President himself said nothing.  Ex President Madela from South Africa complained he was paid too much and after a year left the post giving the reason that a next President would do a better job.  This is what I call Independent minded.  Can both the ex PAP Dr Tan do this? I doubt so.They will just attend more function, cut more ribbons, shake more hands and draws $350,000 a month doing close to nothing.  Scrap the Presidency. It is the best reitrement job in the World.

  2. He is trying to be a copy cat on what a great American president said about their country. This is very typical of regular army personnel, the tan-chia-peng of Singapore. He thought by saying that he will go down in Singapore history worthy of quotes by future generation.

I am beginning to feel dreadful of our scholarship system. Once a person attained good academic result during his young days, his career path will be smooth as silk, doesn't matter if his IQ is as low as this idiot Chan. I wonder how many policies he had implemented while in office as Army chief, it is very likely that these are full of flaws.

I wish to extend my apologies and at the same time regrets to his mother for the next sentence. Chan Chun Seng is indeed, plain stupid!

  3. Honestly, though i do not agree totally with his tone..but there is some truth in what he says..
Younger generation singaporeans are now living in a protected and safe environment, being spoon-fed from young...No wonder there is a tendency to push responsibility and ownership over one's fate and predicament to the government...comeon...rather than rumble over the consequences of having Fts in Singapore, have you considered the benefits of having them? If it means fearing more competition at the workplace, perhaps it is time for you to upgrade yourself and wake up from your comfort zone...

  4. In their self-denial elitist mindset, they are higher-mortals talking down to lesser mortals. Hence, the lesser mortals would have to REPENT to the higher-mortals and should ABIDE BY whatever the higher mortals would DICTATE.

When such higher-mortals were caught by surprise by issues such as the recent Orchard Road floods, supposedly not to happen once in umpteen years, it wouldn't ever be their fault as they are NEW in the job and blaming it on Global Warming is the easiest way out.
