President to get $3.9 million a year

By: teh_si/makapa
Happy PAP

The TV screenshot shows just the 1st round of the increase - highlighted in blue in my table.

There is another round of increase till the minister salary reaches 88% of the benchmark. By then, minister salary will have increased by 61% and Prataman's salary could reach $3.9million.

The cells in blue are the increases announced in the ministerial statement.

The cells in green are the projected salary increases by end-2008 when minister level salary reaches 88% of the benchmark, assuming that the ratios of these salaries against minister salary in 2007 remain unchanged.

  3. During the last election, when we had that chance to reduce PAP numbers in the parliament, what happened?

Stupid Singaporeans voted to be slaves. When will they ever learn?

  4. I am not a Singapore citizen, but still have been following this pay hike thing. I love the logic meted out by the gahmen to justify their own pay hike. I wonder why they bother. They ought to benchmark it to global CEOs and not just local CEOs.

Today I read the old man's rebuttal to one of the opposition MPs point that the Scandinavian countries are run as well but their PM does not come with such a price tag. He asked if they could transform Singapore they way the PAP has.

Why does someone not ask him a few questions in turn

    a. How many ministers have left for the private sector in the last 10 years? How do we know that they will leave in future if pay hikes don't happen?

    b. How do we know that Singapore will descend into chaos if salaries don't keep up?

    c. Granted the PAP took Singapore to where it is today, which the Finland government did not, why reward the current lot for the transformation. They ought to reward the older generation

    d. How do we know that LKY could become a top lawyer and earn $4 million? He claims that quite regularly and without much modesty (I thought modesty was one of the "Asian" values).

    Any other questions?

  6. A top prostitute can earn up to 4 million dollars per year. That does not mean she deserve to be paid that amount if she really has the brain and becomes the PM? What nonsense is this? What is the definition of civil servant? PM or not, you are nothing but a servant.

    Singapore needs a revolution!
