Had there been another year of walk-overs, we wouldn't have known that there is more than a hint of a whole bunch of yes-men in the incumbent party

  7. This speech by Teo Ser Luck at a rally shows the type of MPs the PAP picks to represent us. I am not sure if he is a scholar but he sure does not have his head on his shoulder and will not connect with the people. He is not a politician. I have also seen Swee Say and Lim Teck Yew speak. i am not impressed. The basic requirement of a politician is to be able to stand up and communicate and reach out to people. If he cannot he is unfit to represent us. Many of the Opposition candidates have so much more presence. Take first timers like Nicole Seah, Tan Jee Say, Vincent and so many other less qualified candidates (ie non scholars). They can hold their own. They are true politiicans. Only the first generation of PAP leaders were true politicians. Increasingly we have poor quality PAP candidates. The PAP will have to review its selection process and reach out to the people. You may have surrounded yourself with people at the grassroots who will tell you things you want to hear. Some of them may be there to rub shoulders with the establishment and to get favours. You have to not only start listening but doing something about it. Do not scoff at the Opposition.Take them as warning signals. The people are trying to tell you something. It does not mean only scholars can be rulers. You have lost focus and will lose support if dont change.

    Concerned citizen.

  12. yes, so pathetic and in fact, childish for such a senior PAP cadre to make such a speech. The PAP has really to do some soul washing, not searching if they want to up their standards, which have been falling over the years. .

I am not a supporter of PAP because some of their recent actions pissed most of us. However, I m disturbed that selection of party is based on how eloquent a speaker is. Teo Ser Luck may not be a good speaker but he is a sincere person who does honour his words. I have worked with him before and he is a good team mate so I don't think it is fair of anyone to judge him in this manner. It is like saying Low Thia Khiang is a lousy MP when you don't stay in Hougang. For the matter of fact, I stay there and LTK is a good MP.

  14. This is what you get from Ministers and MPs that have been served tea and cookies before they join the party. Complacent, passionless and ill prepared. They have to understand that when they face the people, they cannot rely on their army of civil servants and academic assistants but only themselves. They should understand that serving is not a job, it is a calling and all that comes with it.

  16. Teo Ser Luck was once doing grassroots work at Sembawang before he entered Politics. I attended one of the meet-the-people sessions to discuss an issue with them and he happened to come by and ''serve'' me...I can tell you that the vibes are horrendous...he appeared not humble, not çaring (remember he pounded his chest in the speech) and worse of all, he came across as proud...so how can I trust this guy????

pathetic! Please resign and please , don't waste space the next time. Unless, you unreservedly propose a Pay Cut of Ministerial Pay of 80% to align with international standards. Of course, you pay should be below President Obama's Pay. Thank you

Please Singaporean, is time to ask ourself, true leadership and scholar is two different issue. We need leaders who will listen to people. Let me ask simple question to our present leaders, what is the main objective to be a sucessful leader? Remember Art of warfare!

The way Teo Ser Luck talk sound like he is just reading the scripts which is prepared for him early. Don't even sense any passion at all on the sincerely for serving people. Sound very fake and unreal. Even his body language and eye's expression can tell you that...he is not confident at all..
Also, if you listen carefully, the background (the supports's sound). You can guess is not a big crowd at all compared to WP in Hougang and Serangoon stadium.
    What a failure PAP

  39. What we are witnessing is the beginning of the end of a band of people who have lost the trust, respect and goodwill of the average Singaporean to lead them anymore. That it took so long for this awakening speaks volumes for the tolerance of the Singaporean people to suffer so long for nothing. Better late than TOO late. Let us look forward to a new era where our government leaders really have a serving heart (no more lip service) and treat the people who voted them in with the respect and dignity we all deserve. In simple terms - No More Bullshit"!

    MERDEKA!
