For PAP accountability is a dirty word

PAP should be accounting to us and justifying for what they have done instead of continually critising new ideas from the opposition as well as the people. We may not be in politics but that does not mean PAP Ministers are any cleverer than everyone else.

It is time to stop the arrogance belittling everyone else's ideas and comments.
It is time to stop their loss of touch of what the majority are crying out about - Costs increases while Ministerial pay increases and the lack of accountability for overspending.

They should just answer questions on their performances and not expect the opposition to answer questions on the oppositions' performances. The opposition was barely in Parliament and those who were did well. The PAP has been in parliament, their track record though some are good, there are also many which I think can have much better results - if they listen to people.

There are of course several 'disasters', which are known. Are there more that are not known to the public? I do hope there are none as PAP prides itself on their 'transparency' and we have a President who is responsible for safeguarding these assets.

I anyone who should be excused for these scrutiny, I would only think it will be LKY and the members of the founding Singapore, as they have actually risked themselves and brought Singapore from the sorry state the colonial powers left us to today.

It is natural for him to defend PAP as PAP is his baby, but then children do not always share the ideas of the parents. The same fear factor arguments have been used, although it is quite a different era now.

PAP should justify why they should be voted rather than just use scare tactics.

By the way, creation of new jobs and upgrading Estates are not the result PAP, they did not pay a cent. In fact they are being paid to do the job.

Did the PAP Ministers pay for your housing? Did they pay for your salary from MNCs?

Did they increase the income of the lower salaried? Not that I am aware of! Did they push for the increase of Highly paid CEOs? Yes... of course the benchmark for their salaries are based only on this category, the top earning salaried CEOs (including foreign CEOs?)! Are they afraid of benchmarking their salaries against the average Real Income Singaporean? They have not done so yet.

Are Singaporean Professionals over 40 given the same fair chance? I met taxi drivers who use to be local manufacturing Senior Managers, professionally trained who cannot get jobs. I know of other who have joined the Real Estate as Housing agents. I went overseas to work because other countries welcome my qualifications and experiences while the PAP government has not done anything for my segment of unemployed in Singapore professionals. We sacrificed to lower the unemployment statistics. The PAP should be forthcoming with their statistics. We do not have access, but how many unemployed experienced professionals have gain employment in similar jobs or jobs that they can contribute in productively? Have they attracted or created the right jobs?

It is another reason why lots of qualified people are turning to Politics - the "Not opposition" but possibly better parties who have not gotten a chance yet.

Tdoay the world is a global village, i do not live in Singapore either,> I am sue you are glad that you are welcome in a foreign land, I hope you will extend that welcome invitation for some one who is coming into Sinagpore. This is only humanly ethical. There is too much foreigner vs Singapore talk. Asean economical community zone is going to start in 2015, then what?
