PAP govt is messing with GOOGLE and MSN search engines

Please be aware that there is something really abnormal about Google and MSN Search lately. The incoming traffic into Singapore Election Watch has been greatly reduced. If you are blogger or webmaster do take note of this. I understand Blogger has been experiencing multiple outages this past week but I'm afraid this is not an issue.

Some of the top search results into Singapore Election Watch from the two search engines (MSN and GOOGLE) have disappeared. Searching for wee siew kim on google for example would have landed you on this or this sites few days ago, something like AltaVista Search. However if you search on Google right now, you'll most likely land on a PDF file entitled "Engineering Our Future”, parliamentary profile and other good stuffs of Mr Wee Kim Siew. Those two sites from Singapore Election Watch and Singabloodypore (only blogspot) seemed to have disappeared and no longer found in the top Google Search results. This problem is only seen on GOOGLE and MSN Searches. Yahoo Search results are still ok.

Try searching "wee siew kim" or "Wee Siew Kim singapore election apology" on all three major search engines, Google, Yahoo and MSN. The results are astounding!

I'm not sure why someone would do something like that but I am certain who is behind it! I remember Mr Lee Hsien Loong mentioned "Google" and "MSN" in his national day rally speech. But now I think about it, I know why he was endorsing such corporations.

sapmme mentioned PAP might be using Google Bombing.

So what is Google Bombing?

Basically it is how Governments and Corporations want the public to determine the "truth". Google bombs are constructed by manipulating the relative ranking of an Internet search term and thereby creating alternate constructions of reality. Google Bombing is a hot issue right now in American Politics.

  5. Ya, LSL may be messing with Yahoo and MSN, but Technorati is showing the top 5 searches (as of 1949hrs, 29 Oct, Pacific Standard Time) as :
    1. Wee Shu Min
    2. Video
    3. Oxaca
    4. Firefox
    5. Wee Siew Kim

So the 2 Wees are occupying the 1st and 5th most searched item on Technorati --- it ought to say something!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone should capature a screenshot and post it on this website

I wonder if it is possible for all ISP in Singapore to alter the page by changing the search results.

  8. The following two searches give different results. The first is an international search and the other put priority on Singapore (pages from Singapore).

    http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=%22Wee+Siew+Kim%22&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

    http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=%22Wee+Siew+Kim%22&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountrySG

The issue seems to be on the search criteria setting.

Why are you guys giving out more sources for the gahment to target next? stupid lah u all!

Anyway, the www is one huge area where ppl can write about anything and everything, even the myriad porn sites available as we speak!

Stupid gahment, u can try your best to bomb sites, tons of new webmasters are created so many times within a day.. I see how are you gonna contain them all! by the way, I do not care about the fragility of the social welfare and wellbeing of this nation. We are generally still very well behaved despite some heinous crimes that ought to be looked at, rather than the gahment's set of governing our social freedom and entertainment which are so much into our daily lives!

As for those people who got caught in the privacy of their own homes downloading mp3's. So what? The entity that should be imprisoned are the ones owning those illegal mp3 download sites, and not to the people downloading it!

Get a fucking life stupid filthy-rich-nothing-better-to-do gahment minions!!
