After knowing how skewed the circumstances are towards your favour - PAP-controlled mainstream media bias in your favour, the so-called unionist support and Tan clan support for you - the informed choice is clear for many.
"I am confident Singaporeans will make an informed choice on Aug 27 on who will be able to execute the custodial responsibilities of the president and other responsibilities over the next six years." Tony Tan said
This applies to those who, being informed voters, know the following at stake: A parliament already dominated by PAP, and we need no more 'PAP's Yes Man' to take up an exorbitantly-paid job. As such, no need for a PAP Yes Man to allow the PAP to assert total control over the national reserves in disguise. An informed voter also knows that a truly independent EP is one who is most dissociated from the pinnacle of PAP power. Unfortunately or fortunately for you, Dr TT, you don't fit the bill, at least in my most honest opinion. To exacerbate the problem of you being perceived (rightly) as the PAP's Yes Man, your integrity is also under question over the apparent favouritism regarding your son Dr PT's treatment during his NS, when I myself slogged my sweat and blood out to faithfully serve without any complaint and is still paying my dues back at the annual ICTs.
An informed voter, I mean one who knows the stakes on hand and is open to media information alternative to the PAP-controlled MSM, knows what to do this PE2011. I know this four-cornered fight is purposely devised to dilute and scatter the votes for TJS, TCB and TKL, so that even if you still muster the slight razor-thin margin of vote share over theirs, you'll still win, Dr TT. This, an informed voter also knows.
For me, as informed voter, my vote no matter how insignificant it can be compared to those held by the uninformed voters, will still never go to you. Pardon me for my crudeness: over my dead body.
Any of the Tans will be better than the current president! I cannot remember anything Nathan has done during his last 10 years in office, to justify his over $25 millions salary.
ReplyDeleteDuring his term, Singapore lost billions of our reserves in the last financial crisis. He failed to protect our national asset.....a job he was paid handsomely to do. . In fact, his performance is far worse than D Nair.
Among the Tans, Tony Tan is the best candidate who has great potentials and solid credentials. When he was in the government, he was prevented to outshine PM Lee because of the internal factions among PAP top dogs. I believe, he will out perform the other Tans if given a chance.
For this reason, I would vote for Tony Tan.
