11:54 Tan Jee Say is leaving his house for Bedok Stadium now, though he's declined to say anything to the press

12:05 AM More than 600,000 Singaporeans voted for TJS. This is an impressive result considering that he is a newcomer with no political base or experience.

TT...

12:45 "I want to thank all my supporters. Whether we win or lose, we have already won, with our hearts."- Tan Jee Say

  8. Hopefully TCB wins and not TT coz we don't want our president to be any connections with the PAP...

  9. TCB only say and complain about his own party's policies.
TJS is some no name guy who isn't from PAP which is why anti-PAP people are supporting him
Do you think that using these excuses to vote for these two guys will make for a better Singapore?

  10. Isn't this a fair game? Even if you supported the opposition (represented by TJS, I suppose and I rekon he is a man of good character)
    and I voted for TCB.
If in the end, TT(backed by the govt) were to win, so be it.
    What kelong?
This is the spirit of democracy.

  11. Fk123 just so you know. Is'nt a "useless president" what the PAP wants? Think about it before deeming a such a humble and noble man such as Tan Cheng Bock an " ineffectual buffoon".

  15. It might be that if LTK had not switched WP to TCB, TCB and TJS may have lost ignominiously. Now, at least, we have a neck-to-neck contest.

TT said in 1985 that the MRT proposal from OTC was doomed to failure. Make an excuse for that.

  17. so far, my predictions have been correct (since May).
PAP (especially the younger generations) has become arrogant over the years. the people wanted a not-so-drastic reform.
they don't want CSJ/SDP's mad-dog type of opposition. so SDP lost.
and WP under Low's careful management for 10 years won.
as for SPP's Potong Pasir.... people respected Chiam a lot. yet people don't want him to pass the baton to his own wife. so he lost too.

and for this presidential election. I voted for TCB. now even if he cannot win, it is already close enough (recount)

and this election indication will make the PAP and the PM to consult the people more in making decisons in at least the next 5 years.

    so, isn't this a good thing/sign?

the final victory goes to the whole of Singapore and her people.

  19. The CNA reporter at Bedok studium is rude:1. She should not push Mr Tan Jee Say's hand away.2. She should not post question like why Mr Tan Jee Say not concede.

    Where is your professionalism?

I heard TT's 2 sons did not attend NS at all. In his interview, he's arrogant, intercepting other opponents interview, smirking while TCB TJS talking and no precise answer to all question. Do we need a President like that? What do u wish to see in a respectable president?

  21. Peeps, stop blaming TJS for splitting votes away from TCB. Cock eye issit?? Correct person to blame is obviously TT himself. Dun malign wrong person who gave Singapore so much hope.

If WP and LTK dislike someone, pls keep the comments to themselves and don't sabo anyone with their own opinion during PE period.
We living in Hougang, do you think many like LTK's arrogant outlook too? At least not for those I know, we supported WP just for the sake of having opposition MP all these years.
Well, next GE my neighbours, friends and relatives will not support WP again. It makes no diff in our private estate whoever is MP.
Finally, we fully agree with Sharon Au for her changed of mind to support PAP cos WE ARE UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED !! .... with what the hell SPP and WP had done during recent PE !!!!!!!
