MM Lee Vs. Malaysian Politics

Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew:
"
We need a government that will have the gumption and skill to say 'no' to our neighbours in a very quiet and polite way that doesn't provoke them into doing something silly"
"
My main critics want me to be as liberal, open and contentious and adversarial with the opposition as the West"
"
Our neighbours both have problems with their Chinese. They are successful. They are hardworking and therefore they are systemically marginalised"
Indonesia and Malaysia "
want Singapore, to put it simply, to be like their Chinese -- compliant"
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak:
"
I do not know the reason he made such a statement but it should not have been made at all. It’s a comment that we can do without and it is not appreciated at all"
"
We do not sideline the non-bumiputra in this country. What are in place are efforts to create a balance between the bumiputra and the non-bumiputra"
Dr Mahathir Mohamad:
"
He's not bothered with his neighbours. That is why he deliberately raised something he knew to be sensitive in our country"
"
We could ask about the status of the Malays in Singapore, why they are not allowed to bear arms in the military or train to handle weapons. Why is it that the Malays in Malaysia are so capable in the military field but the Malays in Singapore cannot hold high posts (in the military)?"
"
Why is it that the Malays in Singapore are marginalised to the extent that they have no status at all? This is done deliberately by Singapore. There is no other country that does it like them"
"
The Chinese in Malaysia can join the military and rise to become general, major general and so on. But what is the per capita income of the Malays in comparison with the Chinese in Singapore?"
"
We should have an independent investigation on why the Malays are left behind in Singapore. It is not because they are lacking compared to the Malays in Malaysia but because they are pressured, marginalised and oppressed. That is the kind of government founded on the views of Lee Kuan Yew"
"
You should just guard your own rice bowl. You are not that clever. In a small group, perhaps you seem clever."
"
But when he goes to China, the Chinese there don't want to listen to him. The Chinese in China don't think much of him and it is a fact that he is marginalised by Chinese in the world"
Do read article by Dato Rezal Arbee, entitled "Are the Chinese discriminated in Malaysia?" to respond to LKY allegations in the link below:

Dato is a veteran journalist sacked by Khairy cronies of Tingkat 4 for acknowledging the Internet voices. He now regularly contributes to this MyKMU website
There is discrimination everywhere....be it...Singapore...Malaysia..Indonesia....or any part of the world.....even France...the most liberal nation...
However....the country deals with it....with ways it deems fit.....
But it is pity that the senile side of LKY had to come and touch on such a sensitive issue....and name countries like our meighbours.....
Goondu....zip it ...if it is not helpful.....

LKY is engaging in the politics of distraction. To draw domestic attention away from the less than successful IMF-WB meet and the negative PR generated.
